Best Patio for Pets:
Café Stella Set just off Upper State Street on Las Positias, this French American café provides Santa Barbara with a great option to dine with Fido. The dog friendly patio has majestic views of the Santa Barbara mountains. This, combined with delicious food, will keep you and your dog coming back for more!
Best Patio After a Day at the Beach:
Brophy Brothers Show up in your flip flops, wipe off the sand take in the ocean breeze. Enjoy the view and eat some of the freshest seafood in Santa Barbara. A table on this coveted patio is worth the wait. Saddle up to the bar while you wait and grab a spicy Bloody Mary, an oyster shooter and watch the sea urchin divers unload their latest haul.
Hottest Patio Scene:
Zaytoon Dare to take a trip to taste the delicacies of Lebanon? Dine in front of a blazing fire pit and twinkling lights while enjoying the sounds of a violin and guitar duo. This sexy patio is always happening with the town’s “it” crowd. Though the setting is magical, the food will bring you back.

The boATHOUSE AT HENRY'S BEACH
Bella vista, four seasons biltmore
Sea breezes, seafood, steak and a spectacular ocean view...So memorable! Be sure to snag a seat during Happy Hour at the bar area for some of SB’s greatest dining deals. Sip a glass of wine, while looking at the sand, protected from the elements by a glass wall.
With a roof that retracts over the dining room and an intimate ocean-view patio, the entire restaurant is open air. Soft candles, swaying bamboo curtains overhead and stately fireplaces make this the perfect place to propose. Take that special someone for a romantic walk on Butterfly Beach before a decadent five star dinner.

Best patio for a sunday funday:
THE LARK Enjoy the sunshine after a day of wine tasting with friends at Santa Barbara’s newest restaurant. Though young, this place has been an instant hit with locals. Located in the heart of the Funk Zone, this upbeat patio boasts a ‘funky’ twist with makeshift walls of glass, succulents and bath tub planters.

Q: What first sparked your interest in the food and beverage industry?
A: I remember being drawn to my mom's cooking and hosting skills. We always had a great time at the dinner table with family and friends at small gatherings during my childhood. My Brazilian upbringing offered ample opportunity to enjoy good cooking, celebratory feasts and shared laughter. Today, I bring those early lessons of warm hospitality to a new level of sophistication.
Q: How have your past experiences translated to your career with Four Seasons?
A: Prior to joining Four Seasons, I worked in stand alone restaurants in Boston. A succession of ‘name brand’ learning experiences molded my professional development. The heady experience of working for the most prestigious hospitality group in the city truly helped to broaden my knowledge and management skills. I have used these skills and those gained during my tenure with Four Seasons to grow as a leader.
Q: Who has been the most influential figure that has inspired your career?
A: Julia Child - She made it fun to get back into the kitchen and taught us not to fear French food. She reminded us that the homeliest activity can be high art if approached with the right spirit. Raise a glass of cooking sherry in her honor!
Q: When you're not at work, what do you do for fun?
A: I love to be outside. Whether it is running down State Street or jogging beachside at Butterfly, Santa Barbara has so much to offer. I love gardening, and I cannot forget about shopping. After this interview I'm heading to Sak's for a new dress! Reading relaxes me. Reading relaxes me. I love Paulo Coelho's books. Even though I work in a restaurant all day, I love to go home and cook for friends. It is the perfect opportunity to share a meal and drinks with friends. 16

Q: Shifting to Bella Vista, do you have a favorite meal to pair with a cocktail?
A: It's hard to choose amongst Chef Cartumini's Californian inspired Italian menu. Chef loves the Farmer's Market, and our menu is ever changing based on what's in season. Right now, I really like the crispy Branzino. It's served over a bed of summer beans and honey red onion tossed with a tangy sherry dressing. This dish craves the Backyard BarbareĂąo, a drink we created using ingredients sourced within 100 miles. It's a refreshing summer cocktail and pairs excellently with this nice, light fish.
Q: Where does Bella Vista get the inspiration to create all of the fantastic food and cocktail creations?
A: Our team is very talented. We get inspiration from travels and locally sourced ingredients of Santa Barbara's rich bounty. One of the most important aspects of the process is collaborating as a team. During our staff meetings, we practice creativity via writing, brainstorming and approaching ideas from different angles. With the entire team working together, we come up with some pretty unique and interesting concepts. It is one of my most favorite aspects of working here.
Q: What’s the most gratifying aspect of being the general manager at Bella Vista?
A: The ability to put smiles on the faces of our guests by enhancing their dining experiences. As a consummate hostess, I enjoy meeting people and providing friendly service with efficiency. I like helping my team create lasting memories. I believe in building and cultivating strong and long-term relationships with guests. I keep in touch with guests from Boston and they visit when they travel to Santa Barbara. I look forward to creating that same connection in Bella Vista.

Montecito's Secret
GARDEN Santa Barbara Life and Style Magazine was given the key to this private garden located in the heart of Montecito. Upon receiving the key, we were sworn to secrecy on the specific location of this exclusive garden. (Sorry!) This garden consists of multiple herb beds, citrus trees, avocado trees, rosemary bushes and a whole bunch of amazing smelling plants growing inside. This aromatic flora enveloped our senses when we arrived. The Santa Barbara Life & Style team were tasked to dress up this amazing garden table for an intimate event held inside the secret garden. We were inspired by the bounty of the garden and utilized its resources. By using the garden's tomatoes, rosemary, lavender and mint for arrangements to deck out the table we gave this elegant garden a bit of understated glamour. The garden table was flanked with rustic benches dressed with super plush pillows and cashmere blankets so guests could stay warm on a chilly Santa Barbara evening. Heavy wrought iron candle lanterns were hung from the the citrus and avocado tress, allowing the candle light to showcase the colored fruits in each tree. It all made for an enchanted evening.
