Learn how to best communicate with your puppy and also provide an opportunity for your dog to socialize. Classes aimed at earning the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy distinction. Get info on puppy raising questions including housetraining, chewing, and the most effective way to teach practical skills.

Arts and Crafts Beginner Wire Weaving: Halo Pendant
Learn how to make the Halo pendant created by Julie Hulick of Copar Aingeal. We will build the bail and then use a basic wire weaving technique to connect multiple base wires which will secure the cabochon. These instructions can be used to create round, oval or teardrop pendants. Students can bring a cabochon of their own to weave or may purchase one in class.

Horseback Riding 101
Horse riding is for beginners, but all levels are welcome. Should be fun and exciting! In the first few lessons, riders will have the opportunity to interact with their horses on the ground. Introduction To Cabbing
Learn how to turn a slice of rock into a cabochon suitable for use in jewelry. This beginning class will teach you to trim, grind, and polish stone on a variety of lapidary equipment, creating a flatbacked, domed cab.

Geometric Enameled Earrings
Enameling is the colorful result of fusing powdered glasses to metal, using high heat to form a durable vitreous coating. In this threehour course, we will use enameling techniques and create geometric shapes from copper sheets to make at least one pair of enameled earrings.
Jewelry Construction
The allure of hand made,eye catching adornments will inspire you. With a desire to design simple jewelry, learn basic non-casting jewelry construction techniques. Come create unique rings, bracelets, and pendants. Enameling on copper will also be taught.

Arts and Crafts - cont. Forged and Welded Wall Wreath
Dive into the world of metal with this multiprocess class. Day one entails a visit to Leslie Tharp’s blacksmithing shop for a crash course into forging fundamentals. Learn to hammer hot steel on an anvil and form multiple sculptural scrolls and twists. On day two, meet at Santa Fe’s welding shop to attach our forged pieces and create a finished door wreath. During our time at Santa Fe, work on using MIG welding techniques.
In this class, you will use paper crafting tools including rubber stamps, ink, and paper to make 8 Fall-inspired, all-occasion cards. All supplies are provided.

Weld Your Own Fire Ring
Let’s get ready for those chilly evenings! Sign up for the class and learn to fabricate your own fire-ring for the back yard. This fire pit design will include a handful of fundamental fabrication techniques and is designed as an intro class for beginning welding students, so no experience is required. Drawing and Painting Flip Cup Acrylic Paint Pouring
Flip cup painting for beginners is an acrylic pouring technique where different colors of paint are mixed with a pouring medium, before being poured into a larger cup. A canvas is placed face down on the cup, then flipped so the cup is upside down on the canvas. In this course, students will learn the basics of acrylic flip cup paint pouring and will produce a 12x12 acrylic flip cup painting as well as a 6x6 ceramic tile mini painting. The instructor will assist the students by providing positive commentary, troubleshooting paint issues, and recommending different techniques.
This class will assist the student in developing skills in his/her chosen medium, which may include watercolor, acrylics or graphite drawing. Individual students will be working on their own projects and assistance will be provided as needed by the instructor.

Intermediate Dutch Pour - Acrylic Paint
Dutch pour painting is an acrylic pouring technique where different colors of paint are mixed with a pouring medium, before being layered on a small portion of the canvas. The layered paint is then surrounded by white paint. A straw or hairdryer is used to spread the paint for the final design. You’ll learn the basics of paint pouring. Mix your own paint colors and additives to create a 12”x12” Dutch pour painting as well as a 6”x6” ceramic tile mini painting. The instructor will assist students with positive commentary, troubleshoot paint issues, and recommend different techniques.

Using only a graphite pencil, we will explore the quality of line to describe organic and inorganic shapes, soft edges and hard edges. The same descriptive lines will be used to draw contour and cross contour shapes and finally these objects will be grouped together to form an interesting composition in correct proportion, one object to another.

The manipulation of the long staff can stretch and tone the vast majority of the muscles of the body. By utilizing Karate Bo katas, you can have an exciting set of moves that work the body without becoming boring. These exercises are excellent for blood circulation, breathing, coordination, and working the midriff and back muscles which can help posture.
Learn to draw and manipulate while moving and re-sheathing a Japanese style wooden sword in a deliberate, dignified manner. This practice coordinates many parts of the body in a quiet, slow way similar to yoga or isometrics.

Paddling Withlacoochee - South *
Paddling Withlacoochee River was designated an “Outstanding Florida Waterway.” On this 3 - 3.5 hour paddle, we will pass through a mix of extensive, open marshes. We’ll see deeply-shaded river hardwood forests that are loaded with water birds, that in places form a nearly complete canopy. The wealth of history, archaeology and wild plant and animal lore makes this one of our favorite tours. Suitable for all skill levels. Basic lessons included for beginners.

Silver River: Naturalists Edition *
This will be a slow-poking exploration, geared toward inquisitive paddlers more interested in learning wild lore than covering distance. Unlike our other paddle tour/classes, this one will only cover a couple of miles in total, allowing time to drift, observe and learn about the river’s plants, animals, archaeology, history and other wild lore. If you want to see more of the river and learn a bit less of its wild lore, I recommend one of the other great courses offered here. Difficulty: Easy, out-and back paddle. Half the tour will be against a very light current.
