The locker. That's the MOST important thing to me. Having somewhere I can lock up my bag and belongings safely while I go run or swim is the primary reason I am a member. Honestly, I am happy chaining my old bike up anywhere,

The folks who man the desk in the morning (Melissa especially, as well as Sean) are amazing! So friendly and helpful. It always brightens my day a bit to talk with them!

Staff is great, appreciate that members appeared to be screened better than before. The repair stand and the air compressor are terrific additions. There does seem to be quite a number of locks left there that don't seemed to be used much and there are still a few bikes kept there that don't seem to move.

my bike lights at home. I was hoping as a member, I could just borrow a light for the night, but I had to pay $5 for it. The fee itself is maybe a little high for the tiny lights I got: I can rent a whole bike for $30? I would think that safety gear like helmets and bike lights would be free. I'm sure that the staff member was just acting on the company policy, but to have a bit more of a friendly (family-like) feel, little things like letting a member borrow a light, would go a long way. Apart from the fee, I received a phone call that night when I got home that I'd have to pay when I brought it back in the morning, then a second phone call the next day making sure that I had returned it (which I had). It just seemed like a big ordeal to get home safely. 6
Generally I feel welcome & have had good interactions with most of the staff at SMBC.

I come from Main St (to the south of the bike center). It's fine getting to the center (although the lane is uncomfortably small and cars always try to squeeze by me) but leaving the center it's crazy to try to figure out how to get back on

Tough to get onto Main (my normal route home). Took some time to adjust after each traffic pattern change, but not a huge deal, and looking forward to the new treatment.

I used to take 4th from Broadway, then to Colorado to get to the bike center, then changed to go down to 2nd and basically salmon up the last part of the bike lane to get there. Now, I can probably go back to using 4th again.
