Fun in the Sun! Summer is here and we have planned a host of activities to keep you busy! Join us for these heat beating, fun filled activities - make this a summer to remember. Old Fashioned Picnic at FINLEY Park Thurs July 9, 11am-3pm, $5 member/$10 non-member, #72010 Relax in the shade with friends and enjoy a lunch of beef, turkey or veggie burgers, beverages, salads and dessert. This summer celebration is co-sponsored by the Santa Rosa Sunrise Rotary Club. Be prepared for the festivities, including performances by the Line Dance Rebels and Ukulalians! Lunch is served at Noon. Get your tickets early as the event sells out fast and there are NO tickets sold at the park! $5.00 to members; $10 non-members. Remember: Membership has its rewards! Neighborhood Flea Market Sat Aug. 22 8am-1pm, FREE, BV Senior Center Join us for our annual neighborhood flea market featuring 50 vendors selling potential treasures for you! Vendor space is still available: $20 will get you a space approximately 9’x12’, a six-foot table and two chairs, where you can make some money on those hidden treasures in your attic, closets and garage. Additional tables may be rented for $5.00. Along with all the great sales going on in the parking lot, BVSC will be holding a hot dog BBQ on the patio, proceeds benefitting senior programming and activities. Water Fitness Classes Finley Aquatic Center, Call (707) 543-3760 for times and fees Refresh in the pool while getting your exercise! This 60-minute workout uses the resistance of water to provide strength training and aerobic conditioning for people of all fitness levels. Improve your strength, endurance, flexibility, and well-being. Class is conducted in shallow water, non-swimmers are welcome.

Catholic Charities will be giving two informational presentations about the CalFresh benefits (food stamps). They will check your eligibility and help you apply for this very important food assistance program. If you are approved for CalFresh benefits, Catholic Charities will give you a $10 gift card from G&G Supermarket. The presentation will also include information for other valuable services that Catholic Charities offers to the community. Outdoor Fitness with Instructors Gloria Lew Peck, Heather Lustig, and Pearci Bastiany This summer, we’re bringing FREE instructed fitness to outdoor locations around the City as part of a pilot event series! One totally free 45-minute workout led by a talented instructor will be offered each month June through August.

Around Town Next Act Theater Arts program for Seniors NextAct, a new, training and performance program focused on theater arts (or stage arts) for seniors is coming to Sonoma County. NextAct is a theater training program for seniors, offering classes and performance opportunities, to promote healthy, productive and creative aging. The mission of NextAct is to enhance the lives of older adults by engaging them in theater classes and performances and to enrich and enlighten the community by sharing the talents, skills and wisdom of its elders.
