Date of Birth 26th March 1955
Prabha Kiran is a social activist and social reformer turned politician. She is the founder member of United Human Rights Federation. Presently she is the Chairperson of the organisation and involved in human rights and environmental causes. She has done lots of research and the practiced social work, focuses on areas such as: human development, counseling, social policies, public administration, social program evaluations, and community development. She is very well connected with people of influence and people of social importance in various walks of life such as Trade, Industry, Politics, Administration, Judiciary and Foreign services. Made many documentaries on Social Welfare, Women Welfare and Environment and got published many articles on different social issues.
Education Masters in Social Science and B.Ed. from Agra University Family Eldest among 5 brothers and sisters, all educated and well placed in very senior government employment, Sales Tax, Income Tax, Education and other Jobs. Great Emphasis is given in the family to Female Education and the female members of the family including the next generation are highly qualified and well placed either in teaching profession or otherwise in the corporate world. Father Late Shri Maheshwar Dutt Dimri, was a well known ‘freedom fighter’, who had done several scientific innovations and he was actively involved in social service to the people of Garhwal, A Thinker and a writer, he written so many books, most popular being “Discovery of The World".
Mrs. Prabha Kiran born in the valleys of Rudraprayag (Named after Lord Shiva) which is situated at the holy confluence of Alaknanda and Mandakani rivers. She dedicated 40 years of her life for the people of Uttarakhand, specially women. She fought and helped in curbing the malpractice which were prevalent in the society like Bonded Labour, Child Labour etc. She was instrumental in raising her voice against this malpractice. She is Firebrand, Highly Energetic, True Fighter, Highly Educated, Well Traveller, highly respected person, belonging to one of the most respected family of Uttrakhand. People inspire with her tireless efforts for the advancement of the society and selfless service to the humanity, they fondly call her 'Maa Prabha' to show their respect and love for her.
