Dear Residents New beginnings are always exciting and challenging. Crossings Republik was born on June 10, 2006 and now it is seven. But we have many more miles to go. Through this magazine, Crossings Insight, the township of Crossings Republik will never be the same again. Our flagship endeavour will serve as a platform where each one of you will be featured, every activity of this township will be reported and the world will know you. Like this elite township, when the thought of launching our own magazine germinated, the fundamental idea was to build a bridge for interaction and share our ideas with you – the residents. We want you to come forward and contribute in shaping up this magazine because it belongs to you. We are overwhelmed with the response we got by the people who participated in the contest to coin a name for our magazine. We are thankful to Dr Prashant Acharya and Dr Puja Acharya, who together christened this magazine Crossings Insight, a name which was zeroed in by a jury of eminent people. Over the next few months, we have lined up several activities to ensure that this city grows manifold. We would like to know from you what you’d want to read in this magazine Manoj Gaur Whole Time Director Crossings Republik
and how we can make it better. We hope that you will enjoy reading this issue as much as we enjoyed putting it together for you. And remember we eagerly wait for your suggestions, so do write in on wtd@crossings.in.

To begin with, it will launch supplies of the eco-friendly Piped Natural Gas (PNG) and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) for the residents of Ghaziabad in the next financial year. IGL managing director Om Narayan had written to the Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Ministry seeking allocation of 0.2 million metric standard cubic metres per day (MMSCMD) of natural gas for meeting the PNG and CNG needs of Ghaziabad. The first two CNG stations are located on the 45 m Master Plan road side and the construction of a gas station is already under construction.

The students from classes I to XII exhibited their environment-consciousness by participating in various competitions like badge-making, paper-making, plant a seed, visit to a plant nursery, debate, cardmaking, turncoat, best out of waste, slogan writing, poster-making, street play and face painting. These activities were an endeavour of Ryanites to contribute their share of envirophillic approach, leading to a bountifully beautiful earth. The students planted saplings in different localities including Crossings Republik. The activity was conducted in association with the RWA and residents.
Reach your destination on time As more and more people are moving to the first global city in the country – Crossings Republik – the traffic situation is getting worse by the day. The 21-km stretch from UP Gate to Dasna often leads to a bottleneck as it is accessed by over two lakh vehicles every day. To bring relief to commuters who often get caught in long jams, the authorities are planning to widen the road. An additional lane of 3.5m width would be constructed on either side of the carriageway. Five underpasses

s the nation celebrates the 66th Independence Day, the residents of Crossings Republik, the first global
city in India, have launched a unique initiative. They have hoisted a 100 ft high National Flag which is the highest in Uttar Pradesh and a day-night monumental Tiranga. An initiative of Crossings Republik comprising of seven reputed builders and real estate developers – Ajnara Farms and Services Ltd, Assotech Ltd, Gaursons India Ltd, Mahagun Developers Ltd, Panchsheel Promoters Ltd, Paramount Residency (P) Ltd and Supertech Ltd along with Naveen Jindal’s Flag Foundation of India – the National Flag now adorns the main entrance of the residential complex. The flag was hoisted on Independence Day. The view of the gigantic Tiranga, aims at giving the ultra-modern township a distinct identity from other residential hubs in Delhi NCR and is a breathtaking sight. With dimensions of 30 ft x 20 ft, the flag will flutter throughout the year as provisions have been made for its proper illumination at night according to the codes specified

There has been a rise in the number of pranayama followers recently. Wondering why these simple-looking techniques are making inroads into every Indian home? We tell you. Words: Nidhi Raj Singh
O
ur ancient scriptures and yoga experts have recommended pranayama for ages. It may look simple
but pranayama is a very specific
breathing technique mastered with regular practice. The word pranayama is formed by prana and ayama meaning subtle life force and voluntary effort to control and direct breathing respectively. So, essentially it means controlling the motions of exhalation and inhalation. Today, we are living in a world where challenging professional and personal lives have become a norm. Irritability, anxiousness, depression and anger stalk us like our shadows. These conditions arise mainly due to blocked prana and subsequent accumulation of toxins in our body. With regular pranayama, the
prana begins to flush out toxins from the system. “When the quantum of
prana is increased to a greater degree, the body becomes replete with oxygen and vital energy, keeping the body fit and mind agile, says yoga guru Suneel Singh. Delhi-based Singh has integrated traditional forms of yoga with newer forms of exercise to suit the urban lot.
