Drifting apart Project aims to unearth and strengthen our understanding, appreciation and enjoyment of the fascinating and interconnected geological heritage of the Northern Periphery and Arctic region,

and its many links to natural, built and cultural heritage. This project brings together partners from Northern Ireland, Scotland, Norway, Iceland, Canada and Russia and will be operated from 2015 to 2018. In December 2015 representatives from all seven partner organisations traveled to Saga Geopark Project, West Iceland to discuss about the development of the geological story line which connects the project area together and tasks such as the development of geotourism and geoeducation resources.

GEOfood GEOfood project will be continuing until summer 2016. Are you hungry for local food? Join us for GEOfood tour around our partnering Geoparks by clicking the video below. Our partner Geoparks in GEOfood project are Odsherred Geopark in Denmark, Reykjanes Geopark in Iceland and Rokua Geopark in Finland.

New projects in the making GEOgreen Magma Geopark is looking for possibilities for starting a new three year project on the name of GEOgreen in the near future. The aim is to to develop green infrastructure models using ICT tools (including mobile applications and virtual reality exhibition), that Geoparks, Natural Parks, and UNESCO World Heritage Sites can use to enhance the environment protection and promotion of sustainable tourism practices. geoVR geoVR continues the pilot started as a project in 2014 to find new, modern and digital ways to share the fascinating scenery and history of the Magma Geopark in southwestern Norway with the world. The project will utilise virtual reality methods to provide technological access to geoparks for those who cannot visit the locations physically. Want to be part of geoVR?
