Labels for Christmas Introduction These notes are designed to provide reinforcement material for tutor led training sessions.
Aim
For students to create stylish individual personalised Christmas labels using Microsoft Word
Objectives After completing the course the user will have experience in the following areas: Use the labels wizard use the grouping tool, text wrapping tool, order facility formatting text boxes using the transparent tool

Labels for Christmas Chapter 1 – Using the Labels Template in Word 1.1 ~ To make labels
Open WORD. From the TOOLS menu, choose LETTERS & MAILINGS, ENVELOPES & LABELS. Ensure the LABELS showing to the front.

Choose OPTIONS to set the size of your labels. Set up the measurements as shown here.

DOCUMENT. type in the addresses.

Labels for Christmas 1.2 ~ Format the labels Highlight the labels, format with colour, font type. Careful with size as it may fall off the edge of the label! If adding a picture, open a new document first, insert the picture, format the picture to be IN FRONT OF TEXT, and the RESIZED

Labels for Christmas 1.3 ~ Using pre-defined sizes from approved suppliers Check on the labels to discover the model number and then you can look it up on the wizard. This should be a ‘fool-proof’ method of getting the information in the right place!!!

Labels for Christmas Chapter 2 ~ Creating personal labels for presents 2.1 ~ Creating the master label It is very simple to produce some personal gift labels for your presents. Open a new Word document Create text box and place in the top left hand corner of the page
From the FORMAT menu, choose FORMAT TEXT BOX. Adjust the formatting of the text box by changing the colour, dashed, weight of the line.

Labels for Christmas Insert some pictures and ensure they are IN FRONT OF TEXT from the picture toolbar. It may be necessary to use the TRANSPARENT tool. The holly border image has a white middle, use the transparency tool to make this seethrough.
Select all the items in the label, by holding down SHIFT while clicking on them, choose GROUP from the DRAW menu. Copy and paste the grouped label five times to fill the page. Print on card
