With both eyes on the ball, Maria Hoard 10 swings back and lets it fly. “Good form isn’t something you pick up fast, and it’s really impor tant for how well you hit the ball,” Hoard explains about practicing good form. As Hoard’s first year on the girls golf team, training was especially impor tant. This par ticular practice was right before the Perry jamboree at Glenbrier golf course where Stockbridge came in last.
A typical 190-pound golfer will burn 431 calories per hour -- assuming he or she is walking across the course instead of riding a golf cart.

September 23 was the GLAC jamboree at Perry. It was hosted at Glenbrier golf course. Stockbridge came in last even with good scores from freshman Mackenzie Williams (57) and Hailey Fisher (60). “Even though
we didn’t win, the other girls scores improved, and it felt good to do well for myself. The meet was a good experience and I made new friends,” Williams said, who later placed highest for Stockbridge at the GLAC championship.
Autumn . Girls Golf
September 25 was the girls Olivet hosted meet at the Medalist golf course. Even though they left without a win, they came home with pride. Samantha Rattai 11 had the best score on the team with a total of 73. Coach Richard Cronk: “As long as they have fun, my job is complete.”
