What do you do when you’re about to burn out? RESET. One program, three paths, a whole-body breakthrough: Telluride is becoming the ultimate destination for luxury wellness travel. Dreamed of as “the greatest retreat in the greatest outdoors,” RESET was founded with an unrelenting passion to help wellness seekers elevate their lives, for good. The heart of the project lies with Dylan Bates, a hard-charging CEO whose life was changed when his wife encouraged him to seek a program in California that focused on balance, re-connecting with nature, unplugging from technology, and eating clean. Launching Spring 2022, RESET Telluride is a private, ultraluxury wellness and trekking retreat that aims to prove that one week can change your life. This first-of-its-kind experience promises complete well-being with daily treks, restorative massage, holistic therapies, and deliciously clean eating. RESET is a one-week journey curated around the individual guest’s goals and intentions. Wellness experts guide the way toward guests’ unique purpose, while helping them tune into their highest potential. RESET’s motto? “Go to your edge. Find your center.”

transformative resets. Bates holds a Master’s degree in Physical Therapy and spent more than 20 years growing an industry-leading PT company from one location to more than 1,000 locations in 35 states.
Owen’s degree is in Environmental Science and Wilderness Leadership. She spent two decades with the acclaimed Telluride Ski and Golf Resort planning luxury events and creating marketing strategies aimed at drawing the luxury traveler to the destination, completed the Excellence in Service intensive with Michelin-starred chef Charlie Trotter, and holds a certificate in Plant-Based Nutrition through Cornell University’s online program.
With deep roots in Telluride and an authentic drive to make RESET the most rewarding wellness week on Earth, Bates and Owen say they want to share this journey with a global community of fellow seekers, adventurers and leaders. Recently joining them are Assistant Director Shanna Obluck and Program Director Alyssa Saunders.

This breakthrough experience was founded by both Dylan Bates and Holli Owen, two lifelong wellness seekers who have lived and learned from their own

@TRECTelluride

According to Saunders, “Moving your body at altitude improves your breathing, increases your power, and helps your muscles push past the burn to peak performance.” Set at elevation, RESET Telluride amplifies the healing power of nature with high-altitude training and trekking for whole-body wellness. All RESET facilities, including guest rooms, offer “O2 enhancements,” in order to promote rest and recovery for guests. Obluck relocated from Chicago to Telluride to take on the new role. She worked for Bates for 10 years, right at the height of his intense career path, and personally witnessed the huge change a focus on wellness made for Bates.
“When he came back from his first wellness retreat, I was impressed by the change I saw and the new energy that he brought to his day-to-day. I saw a shift in him towards taking time to focus on his wellness daily, as well as encouraging those around him to do the same. His positivity was reinvigorated, and it was contagious,” Obluck said. Owen added, “Dylan’s wellness experiences gave him the awareness of the balance that was missing from his life and the need for him to create more of it. Each of those experiences planted seeds that eventually led to lasting change for him.” And both Bates and Telluride are lucky to have this trifecta of skilled women with their diverse backgrounds come together. How is RESET different? “We are focused on service and taking care of people,” Owen said. “I’ve always been impressed with Dylan’s focus on service. My experience with Charlie Trotter reinforced the idea of providing really high-touch service. We consistently ask, ‘How can we blow people’s minds and give them what they want before they realize that they want or need it?’ We are blending luxury and wellness in a refined way.”
 It starts with a designated private wing of the Madeline Auberge Spa and Resort Hotel, full of RESET hospitality and special touches, like RESET blankets, robes and luxury high-end products. All of the products are sustainable and follow the RESET ethos of no plastics and ethical sourcing. “We have custom tray delivery each morning and custom turn-down service each night with curated evening rituals to really promote rest and relaxation,” Owen added. Saunders is in charge of the programming, and emphasizes that along with being service-oriented, RESET is going to be more individualized, not just one path for everyone. The pathways are: REACH—challenge yourself to focus, commit, overcome and boldly let go.
 ROAM—free yourself to discover fresh perspectives and new horizons.
 RECHARGE—find your place and pace to awaken new energy. 6

www.telluriderealestatecorp.com

“Reach is finding the physical edge, with longer treks and more physical fitness. All adventures and treks will be guided with our partners Mountain Trip, who are AMGA-certified mountain guides. Recharge has more of a relaxation component with bodywork treatments and guided meditation. Roam is adventure-based with your choice of two excursions: rock-climbing, fly-fishing, paragliding or the Via Ferrata,” Saunders added.

Owen said in closing, “The RESET team is dedicated to helping you attain and sustain the change you seek, and

intimate thoughts and feelings, especially if the exchange is on a mental or spiritual level.

Six years ago, Winston and Cameron Kelly moved to Telluride. In 2019, they closed on a commercial space next to Telluride Distilling Company in Mountain Village. “We bought the space originally thinking it would be an event space and then COVID happened and that derailed our plans.” Cameron said. “Luckily, we have good and talented friends that have helped us transform our original idea.” What seemed like a wrench turned serendipitous and inspired their theme of coming together. “The name ‘Communion’ came to me one night and I Googled it and the first thing you see is: ‘the sharing or exchanging of intimate thoughts and feelings, especially if the exchange is on a mental or spiritual level,’ ” Winston said. Enter good and talented friends Dustin Clements and Oulli Durham. The Kellys had partnered with Clements and Durham for events in the past and knew their level of professionalism. “It’s a passion project for us all,” said Cameron. “We are a good team that can bring something to the community that we didn’t necessarily have before.” Winston said, “There is beer at the brewery and liquor at the distillery and Dustin and Oulli help us complete the

8

perfect triangle of offerings with the wine bar. We believe it’s good for the community and Mountain Village. We are very focused on whatever can help the vibrancy in the Village and keep people there. We like being a part of the community in Mountain Village and we want the space to be something for everyone where people can come together.” Clements said, “Winston and I had talked a lot about the event space, and it’s an idea that has further evolved with Oulli and me. We got together to decide what we thought would work because we both have extensive experience in the restaurant industry.” Durham is currently at world-renowned Alpino Vino and before that was head Wine Director at Cosmopolitan restaurant. Clements earned his sommelier qualifications in 2011 and before that managed liquor stores both in Telluride and on the front range. He also ran a couple of restaurants and was an Assistant Wine Maker for three harvests at Sutcliffe Vineyards in Cortez. He partnered with Sutcliffe Vineyards’ Winemaker Jesus Castillo, Telluride Ski and Golf Wine Director and GM of Alpino Vino Andrew Shaffner, Katie Hall from Allred’s and Durham to create the famous Telluride Red, proudly produced in Colorado with fruit from Colorado growers at Sutcliffe Vineyards.

www.telluriderealestatecorp.com

“We have experience in the making of wine,” Clements said, “But we have also both worked in the sales side of the industry. Oulli works for a small wine distributor, and I do as well, we’ve had experience in every side of the industry. They say, ‘do what you love.’ I was hired at the liquor store in Telluride not knowing a thing about the industry, and it was something I totally just fell into and really enjoyed.” Said Durham of the Communion endeavor, “At first it was high anxiety, but I am very excited and humbled to be working with a group of likeminded individuals - bringing something for locals and guests alike. The energy of our team is very comforting and relaxing, and I think it’s going to translate to the space and the overall experience. One of our main initiatives is to be a place for everyone.” Clements added, “Partnering with Cameron and Winston has been great, they are some of the nicest, most humble, downto-earth people. They are some of my favorite people.” Cameron is working on getting her master’s in theology and is a florist by trade. She’s worked in philanthropy and the event industry and knows from experience with galas and parties that having a physical space can be one of the trickier pieces of the puzzle. Winston said, “Communion will be a quaint intimate space with high-end furnishings offering a range of price points and something for everyone.” “We will have many different price points, with our focus on smaller craft brews. You may not be able to get a pint of lager, but we will have nice bottles that can be split between friends,” said Durham. “Food-wise we have ideas for simple, organic, locally-sourced small plates, charcuterie and cheese boards, and soups in the winter. The focus is on the wine, and we want you to be able to enjoy yourself and maybe have some food in your belly so you can have a 2nd glass,” Clements laughs. Durham added, “For those with dinner reservations, you can stop by early for a quick snack and a cocktail or after dinner for a nightcap.” Winston said, “We are open to private events and can cater to that – something we think Mountain Village maybe was lacking. We’ve talked about wine tasting and private chef events and dinners. If you need a space to have a party come see us. We have the perfect intimate setting for that. We have these two wine machines that can produce wine by the glass. The machines keep the wine fresher for longer – so the wines don’t oxidize.”

@TRECTelluride

Clements said, “The Wineemotion machines allow us to not worry so much about waste. Without having that worry we’re allowed to pour high-end wines by the glass you might not experience somewhere else. If you want to try something out of your price range, it gives you the opportunity to expand your palette and knowledge.” And knowledge is what this team brings. Cameron’s father has a ranch and their family has been producing estate wine for about 15 years. “My father was born in Iran and developed a love for agriculture very early, so he has a green thumb, to say the least. We do everything onsite from growing to picking to bottling. It’s grape to bottle so it doesn’t leave the ranch, which is becoming more rare. Oulli and Dustin like the wine so I feel like it’s good,” laughs Cameron. “It’s very good as it comes from good fruit, every sample I’ve tasted was very good,” Clements says. “The wine, like the ranch, is labeled Scythian,” adds Winston, “A red wine that’s kind of a private label and not commercially available for sale. It’s like an in-house small-batch wine that we give to friends and family throughout the year.” When asked what success will look like, Durham replied, “Success is to be well-received by the community, because that’s mainly who we’re trying to open this space up for. We are excited to bring this experience to a different area and hopefully everyone is on board and appreciates what we’re trying to do.” Cameron added, “To echo what Oulli said, our desire is to build a sense of community - not necessarily a “Cheers”type situation but be able to walk into the bar and have a smiling and familiar face greet you and know that you’re welcome.” And in the spirit of giving back to the community, Communion will offer several wines by the glass, for which 100% of proceeds will be donated to local charities. Their neighbors Abbott and Joanna Smith at Telluride Distilling Company are also very excited to have them join the block. “It’s a great addition for the whole Mountain Village, we’re excited about this team’s new endeavor.” Communion will be open Thursday – Sunday 3pm-9pm (ish). “Outside those hours we will be encouraging private events, your Wednesday book club or whatever your group may be,” Winston said. Connect with Communion via Instagram – telluridecommunion – or call 970-538-9510 (9510’ is the elevation at Communion).

GoHawkeye

A Non-Profit Foundation: Travel... Adventure... Fundraising For those of you that know Telluride, you may have spotted the distinctive hat and skiing style of Michael ‘Hawkeye’ Johnson. The nickname? It comes, naturally, from the original MASH movie - people saw Johnson as a dead-ringer for the inimitable Hawkeye Pierce, as played by Donald Sutherland. In 1999, after putting all his belongings in a van and hiking the Colorado Trail, Hawkeye decided he had to relocate somewhere on the Western Slope. He chose Telluride for the aesthetic and the skiing. Once he made the move, Hawkeye quickly met and became roommates with TREC broker Rube Felicelli. “We met on the mountain,” Felicelli said. “He was one of the first ticket checkers on Lift 9 because they had been stacking the numbers.” Hawkeye smiled, “That first season I did 100 days without even trying, and discovered the Telluride Adaptive Sports Program [TASP]. I went in and signed up to volunteer after my first season.” “Before I moved here, I was a prison guard, and I watched a lot of people squander their freedom,” Hawkeye said. 12

“I got the prison guard job by accident and learned I was pretty good at working with people and dealing with people. Ten years rolled around before I knew it – it was a good work schedule that allowed for a lot of skiing. Then I was able to retire.” But Hawkeye’s retirement doesn’t look like just anybody’s retirement. He’s just finished his seventh year at the helm of, and as the namesake of, the GoHawkeye Foundation, a non-profit that has so far given away $200K in grants to 66 athletes and 10 organizations nationwide. His goal? “To live in the best ski town in the lower 48 and ski 100 days,” Hawkeye laughed. “I’ve only ever aspired to being a ski bum.” After a few years of volunteering and being an assistant with TASP, Hawkeye completed ski school college in 2003, and started sharing his love of skiing with eager students. By 2007 Hawkeye was even more involved in the Telluride community, volunteering at festivals. “I knew I was doing good because I was helping people learn to ski, then I thought, what else can I do?” Hawkeye said. Inspiration struck in the form of MountainFilm. www.telluriderealestatecorp.com

“I’ve been involved in long distance hiking most of my life, having grown up in Maine on the Appalachian Trail. That whole ‘pack-on-your-back self-sustaining camping’ thing really appealed to me. I’ve gone on to hike the Pacific Crest Trail and the Continental Divide Trail – a lot of long-distance hiking. When you spend that much time on the trail you do a lot of introspection and looking inside your head,” Hawkeye mused. “I decided to combine long-distance hiking and fundraising for TASP, and began planning how to do it in 2006 with Colleen Trout. My new main mission is encouraging other adventurers to raise money while they’re out there exploring.” “We became GoHawkeye around the time I broke my leg in 2008 and, after recovering, hiked the Pacific Crest Trail a second time. We started spending the fundraising on specific TASP-earmarked projects. I was coaching a sit-skier named Steve Hodges when Craig Stein walked through the doors as a volunteer. These guys had film and editing experience. I wanted to keep it in-house and wanted to make it our own, which we did.” Hawkeye, Hodges and Stein began getting creative – hooking cameras up to Hodges’ sit-ski and making promo films and Veterans’ programming, and even instructional films. “MountainFilm got me interested in making film-festivalstyle movies. We created one called ‘Loadbearing’ with TASP backing. All this time I’d been getting people hooked on outdoor sports, and then watched as some struggled to afford it. I had to do a lot of soul-searching about it and realized that people were willing to give us money and I saw a need that I could fill,” Hawkeye said. Another of those films is ‘Falling Into Place’ with Danielle Watson, who survived a 300-foot fall near Crested Butte, and is now a racer with Paralympian potential.

“One of our requirements is that our recipients send us a follow-up essay on how they are using the equipment,” Hawkeye said. “We like athletes. Sometimes we take people under our wing, but we want to see follow up and a current picture, like ‘where are you taking this in your life?’ Are you carrying the legacy of our mission and focus? We are always looking for candidates that are going to advance the message of adaptive sports. Our mission is to help people and organizations.” He added, “When we plug them into the Telluride community, it blows their mind. There is a lot of support here and it is very accepting of people with disabilities. Even if they grew up here, like Logan Fuller, a Dolores kid we helped out, our reach is across the nation, all genders, all abilities and disabilities.” Felicelli said, “We can’t support all 100%, word of mouth and vendors we work with spread the word. We get applications from all over the country, and we have certain athletes we don’t have enough funds for their project or equipment, like Hilary Griffin in Crested Butte. She grew up in Ridgway and learned to ski in Telluride. A car accident two years ago left her a paraplegic. So, Hawkeye comes up with this fundraiser idea, The Pirate Party at the Distillery. We went out and got donations for a silent auction for Hilary and she came, her parents came, her friends came – it was awesome to see the different connections. We made more than enough money to buy her sit-ski and even put money into the general fund.” Hawkeye added, “Another thing we look for is people who have skin in the game, like other funds they’ve raised, and how we can help them with their fundraising through their church, school, civic or community organization.”

Needing a board of directors, Hawkeye turned to Felicelli. “Rube is a community-oriented guy who’s been in political office and served on many boards. He is actually the one who came up with the name ‘GoHawkeye’. When I was doing these hikes he was like, ‘Go Hawkeye! Get out there and hike!’ as encouragement, and the name stuck.” Felicelli added, “Our first year we raised $17K. We were able to build on the great work TASP is doing and provide the next step for people who have come here and gotten their training and reintroduce them to outdoor sports. We now have prospective Paralympians in the program. We only average $25K-$30K per year, but it makes a huge impact on people’s lives.”

Corey Lovato, a snowboarder in Colorado, broke his neck 14 years ago, and became quadriplegic. He put himself through law school and learned all about ADA compliance, issues involving public transit, and living with disabilities in a city. Lovato is now a disabilities advocate lawyer in Phoenix. “It had been 14 years since Lovato had been on snow,” Felicelli said. “We put him up in Telluride, and got him on the snow. We invited a bunch of community members to do a ski around with him. It was really rewarding to make something like that happen. The look on his face was priceless. By the third day he was just ripping it. You see how all of a sudden he got reconnected to the experience of being on the snow, that he hadn’t had since his accident.” “It’s not just skiers and bikers, we’ve helped with fishing, hockey, basketball, archery, a surfer in NYC, hippotherapy with horseback riding. Diversity is important,” he added. Hawkeye said, “Many people with disabilities are just trying to find some freedom from their restriction and be on the same playing field as everyone else. Families love adaptive sports because it changes lives, but on another level, it gives them an outlet where they escape the disability for a while. Your loved one is out and you’re

14

not in a caregiving role because they are independent. You know, everyone’s got to get away for a little bit.” The GoHawkeye Youth Development Fund, inspired by 9-year-old Anika Parr, is a program that raises money by hiking. Each year Ani and her friends Caroline Didden, Taylor Danielson or Helena Burger have taken time out of their vacation to do a fundraiser hike. “I go with them and raise money hiking,” Hawkeye says. “They’ve raised more than $20K since they started, for adaptative equipment and experience grants for youth. This year we did top of the Gondola to top of Bridal Veil Power Station – 11 miles in the backcountry - and raised $7K. A lot of community support comes through the Pirate Parties and some regular donors, anywhere from $10 to $20K.” “It’s all about relationships,” Hawkeye continued. “Don’t you want to leave a mark while you’re here? What are you going to do with your life? I’m not trying to set any records or anything, I’m just trying to be happy – and I’ve stayed busy. Self-perpetuating in the way it’s designed. You’d be amazed how motivated someone can be when you invest in their success.” For more information, to volunteer, or to donate visit GoHawkeye.org. And get out there and hike!

Located only 2.5 hrs by car from Telluride, Dwight found Moab to be the perfect retreat for him and his family in the Spring and Fall shoulder seasons. The Lionsback Resort casitas will feature a timeless, contemporary design that meets “tread lightly” principles. There are 2-bedroom, 2.5-bath and 3-bedroom, 3.5-bath floorplans available. Using the natural grade of the land, two-story casitas sit higher than one-story casitas so that views from the expansive windows and doors are not blocked. Open and inviting indoor and outdoor living spaces are ideal for gathering with friends, family and guests after a day of recreating. Oversized garages fit gear and vehicles for every Moab adventure. The first 29 casitas were put under Reservation Agreement with buyers within one week of their release. The development team is now working on releasing Phase 2 this winter. “The land and its conservation are at the very center of Lionsback Resort,” said Jon Dwight, also President of Invent

@TRECTelluride

Development Partners. “Our own personal histories are intertwined with this rugged terrain, which has led to careful consideration in every design, development and landscaping decision. It’s our dream to create a destination that shares all the wonders of Moab – in a way that preserves this land for generations to come.” Lionsback Resort is committed to respecting and protecting the Moab landscape with sustainable design, construction and long-term maintenance. The all-electric casitas will include vehicle charging in the garage, exterior lighting designed to minimize light pollution in accordance with Moab’s dark sky initiative, and natural landscaping designed to minimize the need for irrigation. The 175acre project has also committed to maintaining 70% of the property as open space, which will include bike and pedestrian trails. A comprehensive drinking water source protection plan protects the aquifer through every development phase and long-term ownership of the property. Contingent upon market conditions, financing and approvals, the Lionsback development also includes a proposed hotel that will provide a four-star, family-friendly experience with a spa, fitness center, pool, restaurant, and a 7,500-squarefoot convention center and wedding venue. The hotel is also intended to allow casita owners to put their homes into a rental program though the hotel operator for added convenience at the time the hotel is developed. TOWN OF TELLURIDE

www.telluriderealestatecorp.com

The Town of Telluride

is like a small urban environment living in the body of a charming alpine village. Nestled below striking vertical peaks, the magnificent valley is comprised of a quaint 16-block-long by six-block-wide grid where streets are typically a blizzard of activity. Children walk to and from school, dogs accompany owners to the bank and post office, friends bump into each other on virtually every corner, and anything can be tackled on foot or by bicycle. In Telluride, a cup of coffee and the morning paper are never more than a five-minute jaunt away; and neither is the ski resort, as two lifts and the Gondola — the innovative people-mover connecting Telluride and Mountain Village — rise up right from town. Additionally, whether one needs an ATM, wifi, a quick snack, or a birthday card, just about everything is available on, or adjacent to, Main Street, Telluride’s lively epicenter. Telluride was designated a National Historic Landmark District in 1964 and takes its architectural standards very seriously — old structures are meticulously preserved, while new construction is monitored by strict and careful guidelines. As a result, Telluride’s residential homes all share a Victorian trend that’s traditional for some, contemporary for others, and its commercial district is a colorful display of restored and recreated western storefronts. And through this thoughtfully laid out floor plan, Telluride captures the bustling energy of any city neighborhood, yet pads it in a safe and neatly packaged, friendly little town. In fact, some might even go as far as to say that the cozy Telluride valley resembles a large family as homes are lined closely together, neighbors chat across balconies, and the mountains above serve as a communal backyard enjoyed by everyone. @TRECTelluride

30 MOUNTAIN VILLAGE

www.telluriderealestatecorp.com

Mountain Village

is a spectacular neighborhood filled with big backyards and winding, tree-lined streets. Homes have privacy, yet are close enough together for neighbors to share the day’s events in the driveway or pass each other on a morning jog. In winter, skiers and snowboarders pull right off the slopes and up to their doorsteps, while on summer days kids toss footballs in the road without having to worry about traffic. As one of Colorado’s youngest communities, incorporated as a town and home-rule municipality in 1995, Mountain Village rests on the northern end of sunny Turkey Creek Mesa, encompassing more than 2,100 acres of forested mountainside. Prior to earning its very own spot on the map, the town underwent a significant research, development and design phase, having been conceptualized as a ski resort village for more than a dozen years. From there, a cobblestone pedestrian plaza at the base of the ski resort became the bustling Village Core, lined with boutiques, restaurants, hotels, spas, fire pits, bouldering area and skating rink. In addition, the Village Core is home to the state-of-the-art Telluride Conference Center, Telluride Ski & Golf Company’s headquarters, the Ski & Snowboard School, three chair lifts, and the Gondola — the transportation system linking Telluride and Mountain Village together in a stunning 13-minute ride. Surrounding the core of town is the 18-hole Telluride Championship Golf Course, as well as beautiful alpine residences that abut both the golf course and ski area. Mountain Village is renowned for its panoramic vistas and elegant sophistication with new developments and amenities popping up constantly, the most recent of which includes a new grocery store, post office and several new hotels. @TRECTelluride

www.telluriderealestatecorp.com

The Telluride Region

has diverse areas that appeal to different types of people. The numerous mesas are about as close as one can get to living away from it all, without being away from it all. The vast expanses of sun-kissed stretches of land sit at the base of the area’s most dramatic peaks, meaning days are longer and views seem no more than an arm’s length away. Wildlife roams freely and property lines reach out to mingle among wilderness areas and national forests, suiting equestrians as well as those who love their space. Yet once in the car, all the mesas are less than 40 minutes from Telluride and Mountain Village, with certain 35acre tracts uniquely positioned only 10 minutes away from the action. Then there are the numerous outlying towns, which boast community living that’s a little quieter than Telluride and Mountain Village. Heading south, residents actually go up in altitude to the old mining/mountain communities of Ophir, San Bernardo, Trout Lake and Rico, where neighbors live close to each other and to the mountains outside their doors. Heading north and west, residents go down to the slightly warmer and more agricultural towns of Placerville, Ridgway and Norwood, where homesteads come in all sizes and communities have social calendars all their own. And like the mesas, all the outlying communities are no more than 20 to 40 minutes from Telluride and Mountain Village.

Dolores River Ranch // $8,250,000 “Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it,’’ (N. Maclean). And that river is the Dolores, dubbed by Trout Unlimited as being one of the “Top 100 Trout Rivers in America.’’ Emanating from a high-elevation watershed with sparkling headwaters near Lizard Head Pass just south of Telluride, the Dolores River is fed by a dozen brook, rainbow and brown trout streams upstream from the Dolores River Ranch. History is woven into this lush 318+-acre landscape with a charming 11-bedroom, half-century-old lodge at the base of the now defunct, but delightfully skiable, Stoner Ski Area (three trails, 1220+ feet vertical). Other improvements include an early 1900s historic ranch manager’s cabin, preserved barn, and other sheds and outbuildings. Year-round recreational opportunities for family and friends abound, both on private land that is 70% irrigated and in the adjoining San Juan National Forest. One need only to step outside to embrace mountain biking, hiking, Nordic skiing, snowshoeing, paddleboarding, rafting and hunting – and, of course, storied fly fishing. Located in Cradle Park, on breathtaking Hastings Mesa, all lots are a minimum of 35 acres, so you’ll never have a neighbor infringing on your peace, and passing two cars is considered heavy traffic. The Hideaway’s 35 wildflower-filled acres, include two aspen groves, a crystal-clear mountain stream, and National Forest access, and are ‘off-the-grid,’ the perfect antidote to the chaos of everyday life. In addition to several excellent homesites, The Hideaway includes a one-room cabin built with the same footprint as the historic “pleasure alley’’ houses in Telluride and a shed to store all of your toys. 37 South Commercial Street, Rico // $425,000

Social distancing at its finest, this 100-acre parcel at McKenzie Springs Ranch affords sweeping views of the Sneffels and Wilson ranges and multiple 14,000-foot peaks. Securely nestled in a gated enclave with a picturesque seasonal pond and power to the lot line, you’ll be able to build the home of your dreams, while still within a 45-minute drive to a powder day or night out in Telluride. Agricultural zoning means the ability to have horses, cattle and other livestock with the benefits of low, low property taxes, while the expansive views are beyond priceless. This is truly the best of both worlds – a short drive to a world-class ski resort, yet far enough to get away from everything and everyone when you wish to do so.

This is a great 4-bedroom, 2.5-bath in-town Rico home. Sitting on three lots in the heart of Rico, you can access all that town has to offer, however, you will never be far from all the natural wonders of the area. The home has a great kitchen add-on, and lower-floor master with ensuite full bath. The other 3 bedrooms can be locked off to the lower floor. Marc Silbergeld

Coming from NY in 2006, Mary moved to Telluride where she shares her life with her very active husband Eliot and their Portuguese Water Dog Riley (who indeed has the “life of Riley”). Her professional success in her prior life was working as a controller in Connecticut for Roger Penske in a company of 200 employees and being a member of the Mercedes Benz “Best of the Best” team. Her personal success includes learning how to ski when she moved here at the age of 48. In 2008, she switched careers from the automotive industry to the real estate industry and has been a valued member of the TREC team ever since. Her passions include tennis, skiing, scuba diving, photography and of course, hiking.

Marc Silbergeld was born and raised in New Jersey. He earned a B.A. from the University of Michigan where he was President of Chi Phi fraternity, and Captain of the Men’s Lacrosse team. After graduating, Marc followed some friends from Ann Arbor out to Telluride where he was captivated by the high mountain peaks. Marc lived in Telluride for two seasons, skied and drove the Galloping Goose bus where he served as an informal ambassador for the town. After teaching English for almost 20 years in New Jersey, he returned to Telluride in 2013 with his wife Tara to raise his children, Langston and Miles.
