How will the Maker Fair be advertised? Maker Fair 2013 will be advertised online on websites and social media (Facebook, Twitter), in several newspapers, on posters, signs and billboards. The event’s website, www.makerfair.org, offers free downloadable posters and social media advertising for the Fair. Vendors are encouraged to spread the word about the Maker Fair amongst their family, friends, neighbors and co-workers! How can I get more publicity for my handmade/ home grown items? Maker Fair vendors are encouraged to submit photos of their handmade and home grown items to be featured on the website and the Maker Fair Facebook page. Vendors can also donate items or coupons/gift cards to the Shoppers Drawing and Goodie Bags. All vendors contributing to the drawing will be given publicity stickers to wear at the event. How does the Shopper's Drawing Work? Maker Fair vendors are encouraged to donate a handmade or home grown item, coupon or gift card for the Shopper's Drawing. Vendors will be given drawing slips to give to customers who buy from them. Shoppers earn one entry slip with each total purchase from a vendor so the more they shop at the Fair, the better their chances to win. Last year, 10 prize packs were given away each containing 3-4 donated items. If you choose to donate to the drawing, please include your business card or contact information for the lucky winner! How do the Goodie Bags work? The first 50 shoppers at Maker Fair 2013 will be given free reusable shopping bags. Vendors can take this opportunity to include a sample item, flyer, business card or coupon to be included in the bags to encourage shopping at your table. Who do I contact for more details about the Maker Fair? This second annual Maker Fair is being organized by Sara Krosch and Patricia Krosch. If you have questions or need assistance with vendor registration please email contact@makerfair.org or call 507-549-3887.
