About
THE SARASOTA BALLET SCHOOL
The Sarasota Ballet School offers a quality dance education for children ages 3 and above. We believe that dance training should not only be fun and creative, but also develop students’ confidence and celebrate their individuality. As students progress through the levels, the amount of dancing increases in accordance with their age and development.

CHILDREN’S PROGRAM Ages 3 - 7
Fun Fantasy Friends Discover the joy of dance in this fun and creative program designed specially for young children. Led by qualified and nurturing teachers experienced in child development, children attend one class per week. Children develop motor skills and coordination, and increase strength and balance. These skills are taught through storytelling, imagery, and opportunities for children to self-express. Students may not realize that they are working on the skill of balancing while they are busy pretending to be a flamingo in a beautiful lagoon.

I remember at a young age discovering the magic of dance and moving to music with my friends. It’s that joy that I want to pass on to my students. - Faculty member Sarah Krazit

Imagine Inspire Improve Begin ballet training in a safe, fun, and creative learning environment. Classes include Ballet and Jazz/Modern. Students begin pointe work in Level 4 after 3 years of training. Students who study dance also develop lifelong skills including self-confidence, discipline, time management, and how to achieve their goals. We also offer a Teen class for students ages 11 and above who have little or no experience in dance.

DANCE IS FOR BOYS TOO!
Sarasota Ballet School has been incredibly welcoming and supportive of my boy dancer. Instead of feeling self-conscious, he feels comfortable and successful and he is eager to continue. All the young dancers come out of class with good self-esteem and sense of their own strength. - Sarasota Ballet School Parent Alyssa Mandel

AMERICAN BALLET THEATRE®
NATIONAL TRAINING CURRICULUM
We are the only school in Sarasota to offer the internationally recognized American Ballet Theatre® National Training Curriculum. All The Sarasota Ballet School faculty are officially certified to teach level Pre-Primary through Level 3 of this wonderful curriculum. The ABT ® National Training Curriculum is a breakthrough program that combines high quality artistic training with the basics of dancer health and child development. The ABT® National Training Curriculum consists of a comprehensive set of age-appropriate, outcome-based guidelines to provide the highest quality ballet training to dance students of all ages and skill levels.
6
PROGRESS & ACHIEVE Children may enter for examinations with the ABT ® National Training Curriculum. Student Examinations benefit students by serving as a skill assessment to document students’ progress, build their confidence, and improve their training. Each participating student receives an
individual rubric outlining his/her proficiency both technically and artistically with comments from the Examiner. Students who successfully pass the exam will also receive an official certificate listing the level of the examination class they took along with their level of distinction.

TAKE A BOW
The Sarasota Ballet School is the only school on the west coast of Florida attached to a professional company. Students receive free tickets to certain Company performances and are also able to audition for children’s roles in Company productions such as John Ringling’s Circus Nutcracker and Still Life at the Penguin Café. Having the opportunity to be connected to the Company is a huge inspiration for young children who may aspire to be a professional dancer one day.
