THE SARASOTA BALLET 2023 - 2024 SEASON
Iain Webb DIRECTOR
It is my distinct pleasure to extend a warm welcome to each and every one of you as we witness the truly inspiring Ballet Hispánico.
At The Sarasota Ballet, we pride ourselves on the range of our repertoire, which is enhanced each season by presenting other dance companies so that they can share their diverse interpretations and artistic vision to our community. It is through the exploration of different perspectives and styles that we enrich our cultural tapestry and foster a deeper appreciation for the art form. Ballet Hispánico epitomizes this ethos, seamlessly blending traditional ballet techniques with Latinx influences to create captivating and dynamic performances.
Led by Artistic Director and CEO, Eduardo Vilaro, Ballet Hispánico has continually pushed the boundaries of dance, earning international acclaim for their groundbreaking work. On behalf of Executive Director Joseph Volpe, Assistant Director Margaret Barbieri, and all of us at The Sarasota Ballet, I welcome Eduardo Vilaro and his exceptional company to our stage.
One of the highlights of these performances is the revival and reconstruction of choreographer Annabelle Lopez Ochoa's ballet, House of Mad'moiselle . Ochoa is a truly exceptional choreographer and artist, and it is a privilege for us to host a preview of this reconstruction.
As the curtain rises and the dancers take the stage, I invite you to immerse yourselves in the beauty and wonder of Ballet Hispánico's artistry.
