Disrupting the Present Catherine Booth, co-founder of The Salvation Army with her husband, William, once said, “If we are to better the future we must disturb the present.” At first glance that quote can sound a bit disconcerting. After all, most of us don’t love transition and change. The truth is, growth and progress do not happen without change, or as Catherine so pointedly put it, without “disturbing the present.” We have been living out Catherine’s sentiment in real time. Until recently, Captain John was serving at The Salvation Army’s Central Territory Headquarters in Chicago as Assistant Director of Operations for the six territorial Kroc Centers, and Captain Tracy was pursuing a career in the optical industry. However, in spite of the fact that we both loved our Captain John and Tracy Gantner work in Chicago, we answered a call from God that brought us to Omaha in May - to a new city, new roles, and a new life in ministry. We truly feel called to serve, and we couldn’t be happier that God has brought us to the Omaha Kroc Center. We are eager to collaborate with the many gifted leaders here at the Kroc and within this city to bring programs of excellence to the people who will most benefit from them. It is an honor and a privilege to serve in ways that will inspire the God-given gifts and talents of others and to help bring the Omaha Kroc Center to its fullest potential as a faith-based regional center. Change and transition can be challenging, but as Paul reminds us, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8). With Jesus alongside, we look forward to walking together with you on this journey. Grace and Peace,

Captain John Gantner Senior Kroc Center Officer

Captain Tracy Gantner Officer for Program Development

Thank you, to our members...

...for your patience during this transformational year! We are truly blessed with the ability to offer more to our members, and you have made the challenges so much easier with your grace and enthusiasm for our new spaces. We look forward to exploring the new opportunities these areas provide with you and are so excited to experience it together. www.OmahaKroc.org | 2

Water Safety for Toddlers

Toddlers learn how to roll on their backs, like an Otter!

Private Lessons One-to-one instruction

30 min Lesson: Mem $25, Non $40

Semi-Private Lessons Two-to-one instruction

30 min Lesson: Mem $35, Non $50 (Price covers two students)

Float4Life is a water safety program that teaches young children, ages 1-3, how to roll on their backs (like an Otter!) so they can breathe, float and reach the side of the pool until help arrives. Those precious seconds can save a life! Sessions include 8 lessons, each 15 minutes long. These “mini” lessons maximize the short attention span of toddlers while gradually increasing the child’s comfort level in the water through personalized one-to-one instruction. The program is a partnership between the Omaha Kroc Center and the Joshua Collingsworth Memorial Foundation. To learn more, go to JoshTheOtter.org.
