Thank you so much for your leadership-level gift to the St. Andrew’s Fund this year. While leadership giving accounts for fewer than 10% of donors, it makes up a staggering 61% of dollars raised: $926,605. Your support for the St. Andrew’s Fund is a crucial part of ensuring that we continuously improve for our faculty and students.
Here are just a few ways your gift makes a difference in helping St. Andrew’s to excel at our four core values: high expectations, community, caring, celebration and humor, and spiritual foundation.
HIGH expectations
The Texas Private Schools Music Educators’ Association is an organization of over 220 private school music educators dedicated to promoting excellence in music education. Founded in 1992, they work with music educators to develop and nurture young musicians in an environment which offers opportunities providing enrichment and achievement for students across the state. This year, St. Andrew’s had 14 students qualify
as all-state musicians. These students earned a spot in the All-State ensembles after auditioning against hundreds of students across Texas. We are so proud of our Fine Arts programs from kindergarten all the way through 12th grade and are exceptionally proud of these students who are exceeding expectations and thriving in musical pursuits!
COMMunity
The rain cleared and gave way to a beautiful fall evening for our annual Homecoming 2022 celebration. There was face painting, food trucks, games, pumpkin painting, and performances by the Upper School Rock Bands for guests to enjoy on the Nazro Green before heading over to Beck Stadium for the football game. Senior cheerleaders and football players were honored before
the game, and at halftime, we crowned the homecoming court and the 2021 SPC 3A Boys Lacrosse team received their championship rings. The football team put a final exclamation point on the night with a 28-0 win over Frassati Catholic.
SPIRITUAL foundation
When kids come to St. Andrew’s, they enter an environment that helps them discover who they are and grow into who they were meant to be. One of the four core values at St. Andrew’s is ‘Spiritual Foundation,’ which is underscored by service projects that send our students out into the community to be servant leaders.
One Saturday in October, 18 eighth grade students joined with parents and MS faculty members to paint the exterior of a family home in East Austin. The event is organized each year by iACT, a local Austin organization dedicated to fostering understanding among different
religious and ethnic backgrounds while also reaching out to help families in the community. The group gathered at 9am to paint, listen to music, dance, and get to know each other better. Meeting the homeowner was a highlight–Rachel had a moving story to tell of struggle, compassion for others, and ultimately finding family in the midst of immense hardships. It was a privilege to hear her story and get to help her maintain her home.Many thanks to all the students, faculty, and parents for living the St. Andrew’s mission and being active servants in our community.
CARING, celebration & HUMOR
Our second graders recently learned that they did not have enough “fidgets” for everyone who may want one. Studies have shown that using fidgets and stress balls can increase focus and attention and also work as a stress management tool, and our second graders wanted everyone to have access. So they decided to proactively solve the problem by making their own. We are proud to celebrate our caring students, one of whom remarked, “We just changed our whole school... we did that!”
