JAY-HO!

RISHABHDEV BHAGAVAN, THE FIRST TIRTHANKAR - II Evolution of Crafts and Trades Prince Rishabh was a highly endowed, farsighted and industrious individual. He had a profound insight into the human psychology. Looking at the needs the times and society he evolved numerous arts, crafts and trades and taught them to people with right aptitude and physical and mental capacities. To some he taught farming and to others the trade of agricultural produce. He invented the alphabets, language, and the numbers along with the tools for writing. For self defense he evolved martial arts and taught these to individuals with strong physique. He also established systems of social security and penal codes. Pottery, architecture, music, dance, and many other arts and crafts that enriched the human society in the fields of knowledge, arts, entertainment, administration, etc. are said to be his contributions. Then one day, on the request of the people’s representatives. Nabhiraja nominated Rishabh to become the first king of this age. He arranged for an elaborate coronation ceremony and handed over the reigns of the state to Rishabh Kumar. The ceremony was attended by all members of the family, large number of twins, and gods. The gods created a golden throne and anointed Rishabh with the water collected from various pilgrimage centres. They attired him in divine dress and ornaments and formally put the crown on his head. The twins humbly poured water on his feet from the cups made of lotus leaves. Rishabh became the first king of this era. The king of gods ordered Kuber, the god of wealth, to construct a suitable city. This beautiful city was named Vinita; later on it became popularly known as Ayodhya. Preaching the Path of Renunciation For many years Rishabhdev continued to rule his people and open new frontiers of knowledge. During the reign of his father the population was organized into random groups only. Rishabhdev reorganized them according to their virtues, activities and professions, and broadly divided the society into three groups. Trading community was known as Vaishya, martial community was known as Kshtriya and all other people indulging in a variety of services were known as Shudra. Till his times the Brahman group was not formed. After a long span of time (6.3 million Purva) he started loosing interest in mundane things and activities, and drifting toward detachment. He felt that he should transfer all his responsibilities to his sons and proceed towards liberation through spiritual practices. He also desired to reach the state

of omniscience and consequently show the path of disciplined life and spiritual practices. His concept was that indulgence in mundane things does give happiness. It gives only an illusion of happiness. True happiness is derived out of freedom from mundane indulgences. Following the stream of his thoughts Rishabhdev divided the area of his rule between his one hundred sons. Bharat was given the state of Ayodhya and Bahubali that of Takshashila. Getting free of the responsibilities of the state, Rishabhdev decided to take Diksha (the formal initiation into the ascetic way). At that time the gods from the edge of the universe (the Lokantikdev) arrived and requested, "O savior of the human race! Your desire to show the path of renunciation to the mankind is admirable, kindly proceed soon to the task of propagating Dharma." After one year of meritorious charity, Rishabhdev sat in the palanquin named Sudarshan and arrived in the Siddharth-vana garden. it was the eighth day of the dark half of the month of chaitra when, under an Ashok tree, Rishabhdev abandoned all his apparels and ornaments. He started pulling out his long strands of hair. After four fistfuls, when he was pulling out the fifth fistful of hair Indra said, "Sire! This strand of hair on the crown of your head and hanging down over you shoulders looks attractive. Kindly leave it as it is." Rishabhdev agreed. Due to this bunch of hair he got he popular name-Keshariya ji (one with hair). The king of gods collected the hair pulled out by Rishabhdev in a divine cloth and immersed them in the divine ocean of milk. Following the example of Rishabhdev many of his subordinate rulers as well as common people got inspired to embrace the ascetic way of life. The First Charity After becoming an ascetic, Rishabhdev took the vow of total silence and started wandering accompanied by other ascetics. When, after his penance, he went out to beg for food, he did not get anything to eat. The common people of that age were ignorant about the practice of giving food as alms. They did not even appreciate the need to do so. Whenever Rishabhdev approached them, they offered him respect and valuable gifts as they would to a king. Rishabhdev would then proceed ahead without accepting anything. As time passed the accompanying ascetics conferred among themselves and decided to eat fruits and vegetables naturally available. They slowly drifted away from Rishabhdev and the true ascetic way of life. After one entire year of wandering from place to place and doing harsh spiritual practices without touching any food or water Rishabhdev decided to beg food once again. He came to Hastinapur town.

Bahubali’s son, Somprabh, was the king of Hastinapur. His son Shreyans Kumar saw a dream during night that Suvarnagiri, the golden mountain had turned black and he had brought it back its golden color by washing it with pitchers full of milk. He narrated his dream to his father and friends, but no one could interpret its significance. Shreyans Kumar was sitting in the balcony of his palace and brooding over the dream he saw last night. All of a sudden he heard the noise caused by happy masses who had seen Rishabhdev entering the town. Thousands of citizens of Hastinapur rushed toward Rishabhdev with gifts. Rishabhdev did not even look at these things and continued his graceful walk in the direction of the palace. When Shreyans saw approaching Rishabhdev, he rushed to welcome his great grandfather. After bowing down at the great ascetics feet when Shreyans looked at Rishabhdev’s face he could not shift his gaze. He went into a state of meditative thoughts and suddenly he acquired Jati-smaran Jnan, the knowledge that opens up memories of the past births. In his past birth Shreyans was the charioteer of king Vajranabh (the past incarnation of Rishabhdev). This knowledge also made him aware of the duties of laity toward Shramans. He realized that Bhagavan Rishabhdev had been wandering around without food or water due to the prevailing ignorance of the people regarding ascetic norms. With due reverence he requested Rishabhdev, "Prabhu! I am honored by your presence. I have just received 108 pitchers full of fresh sugar-cane juice that are pure and suitable for you in all respects. Kindly accept the juice and break your fast." Rishabhdev extended his cupped palms and Shreyans poured the sugar-cane juice from a pitcher. Rishabhdev broke his fast and the skies reverberated with the sound of divine drums and divine applaud, "Hail the alms giving!" The gods also showered gems, flowers and perfumes. This was the beginning of the tradition of religious charity and alms giving. In memory of this incident, the third day of the bright half of the month of Vaishakh is celebrated as Akshay Tritiya festival. The Jains specifically celebrate it as the breakfast day after the penance of Varshi Tap (one meal and fast on alternate days for one year). Omniscience and Nirvana For one thousand years Bhagavan Rishabhdev continued his harsh spiritual practices completely ignoring his body and other mundane activities. On the eleventh day of the dark half of the month of Phalgun he was meditating under a banyan tree in the Shakatmukh garden outside Purimtal town, close to Ayodhya. Around forenoon he transcended to the

purest higher state of meditation. The intensity of his practice caused the shedding of the knowledge and perception obscuring Karmas as well as the illusory Karmas. As a result, he attained omniscience, the purest and enlightened state of soul. Rishabhdev became a Jina. When Rishabhdev attained omniscience the whole world was filled with a soothing glow for a moment. Numerous gods descended from heavens to pay their respects to the Tirthankar. They also created the Samavasaran, the divine pavilion. King Bharat also proceeded toward the divine assembly riding an elephant and taking along his grandmother Marudeva. Apprehensive about the hardships of the ascetic life of her son, Marudeva was relieved when she beheld the scintillating face of Rishabhdev sitting in the divine assembly surrounded by happy and dazzling gods. The vision of her son perched on the spiritual pinnacle triggered the flow of spontaneous joy in the heart of Marudeva. This mundane joy slowly turned into the ultimate bliss and she acquired omniscience. Coincidentally, at the same moment she completed her age and became liberated soul (Siddha). Bhagawan Rishabhdev made the announcement Marudeva had become a Siddha. In his first discourse Rishabhdev detailed the trilogy of right conduct. Knowing about the significance of life as a human being and importance of a dutiful life, thousands of people including Rishabhsen, the eldest son of Emperor Bharat, and five thousands of people including Rishabhsen, the eldest son of Emperor Bharat, and five thousand other members of royal family embraced the acetic way of life. Thousand of other persons accepted the Shravak Dharm (the religious way for laity). As he founded the four pronged religious ford at the beginning of the present era, Bhagavan Rishabhdev became popularly known as Adinath, the first Tirthankar. Liberation For a long time Bhagavan Rishabhdev continued to propagate his religion having the five great vows as its central theme. When he realized that all his remaining Karmas are approaching their end he proceeded to the Ashtapad mountain. On the thirteenth day of the dark half of the month of Magh, a little before noon time, Rishabhdev, along with ten thousand other ascetics, was observing a six day fast without water. He was sitting in the meditation in the Paryanka pose. When the moon entered the Abhijit lunar mansion he got nirvana and got liberated from all sorrows. The king of gods, Saudharmendra, Emperor Bharat, numerous gods and men gathered and celebrated the auspicious event of Bhagavan Rishabhdev’s Nirvana.

How to Start a Match Making Business Are you the kind of person who enjoys playing matchmaker to your friends and family? If the answer is yes and you are successful at it, offering your services as a matchmaker may be a business that you can thrive in. For most people finding true love isn't easy to accomplish, and for those people hiring someone who can make that search easier is an investment in their future. By starting your business the right way from the beginning you can easily become the person who singles in your area turn to when they are looking for a love that lasts.

Instructions Research your market. Go to the places where singles congregate in your area and research how receptive they are to dating services. Ask questions about what they are looking for in a matchmaker and what their expectations would be in hiring one. Check out your competition in terms of style, marketing technique, prices and popularity. Pick a niche. Because matchmaking is such a wide=ranging business to enter, consider focusing on a specific demographic. Determine which group of people are plentiful or under-represented in the dating scene in your area. Professionals, under-40, 40 and over, seniors, specific ethnic groups or gender preferences are all niches that should be taken into consideration. Build a database. Begin collecting names and phone numbers of people who you think are eligible prospects for future matches. Be upfront about being a matchmaker and ask them for permission to contact them when your business is fully set up. Create a list of prospects and make annotations next to the names of people who expressed an interest in hiring your services. Create a business plan. A well-written business plan will help to guide you in what you want your business to be and what you will need to accomplish in order to get there. Assess your short- and long-term financial gains and the amount of time you will need to become

profitable. Research as many different marketing strategies and operations as possible. Determine your financial needs. Your business plan will help you to determine if you are financially able to open your own business or if you will require funding. Go to your local bank or a lending agency to apply for a loan or visit the Small Business Administration (SBA) website for information on financial programs that are available for small businesses. Obtain permits and licenses. Starting a matchmaking business in some states may require special permits in addition to state and local licensing. Check with the appropriate licensing agency in your state and city to determine what is required in your area. Protect yourself from liability. Hire a lawyer to assist you when creating the contracts that your clients will need to sign prior to using your service. Speak with an insurance agent or broker to determine the best type of coverage that is needed to protect you and your business. Locate and equip an office space. Choose a location that is relaxing and inspires confidence. Purchase office equipment such as a computer, fax and printing machine. Buy furnishings such as chairs, coffee tables and plants for your personal office and for your waiting room or lobby. You will also need to buy a professional camera or video recorder for pictures and video ads if desired. Set up a business website. Hire a professional Web developer to create a company website or create one for yourself. To create your own website, go online and search for companies that offer Web hosting services for a small yearly fee. Most of these types of companies will also have templates that you can use to help build your website, either for a small additional fee or for free. Market your business. Create an ad in the newspaper announcing your matchmaking service for singles. Create business cards using your computer or a professional printer, and pass them out to every single that you know. Host a singles event for free and use it as an opportunity to introduce your business to the public.

Advantages of Match Making Services A computer with Internet access and maybe a web cam are all you need to begin. There is no pressure to make a good impression on the first date. Online screening forces you to slow down. The process: -Fill out questionnaire -Review matches -Establish contact by email, then phone, then in person. You are on your own schedule. There have been several testimonials of real chemistry before the first date because of the time each party has taken to know each other. The premium dating sites (shaadi.com, bharatmatrimony.com, etc) have a special prescreening and sorting function that match date seekers based on psychological profiles. Matches are created among people with similar values, tastes, desires, political views, religious tolerance and dislikes. Online conversations are also more frank and leave less room for ambiguity. Compatibility issues are dealt with early in the relationship. This makes dealing with rejection (whether giving or receiving) a little easier. Some may prefer that it be done this way before emotions get involved over an expensive steak dinner. The fees associated with online dating agencies are far less than paying for drinks and meals. They range from free to Rs. 3000 a month for membership. Many dating services offer tools for anonymity, screening and removal of unwanted contact.

Disadvantages of Match Making Services One of the major disadvantages is that people can misrepresent themselves online. Some people post photos of themselves when they were younger, thinner, etc. Also, people tend to exaggerate their accomplishments and salaries to make themselves look more successful than they actually are. There is a tendency to put the best foot forward, and often, the truth is stretched.

As dating agencies gain popularity, their member total can increase tenfold, and managing new members is difficult. For many of the free dating agencies, only simple matches are made for existing members. Spammers can create free profiles. They join because they can post ads in chat rooms and other parts of the website. Members also receive unsolicited mail.

Are Matchmakers a Dying Breed? Matchmaking is a very personal service, and matchmakers have a very select clientele. They rely on keen instincts and personal experience. The fees they charge match their exclusivity. They tend to set their sights on an upscale market of old money and nouveau riche entrepreneurs. A good matchmaker's consultation price is at least $1,000, and the bill rises for more specialized requests. Specialized service is the cornerstone of matchmaking. The clientele demand it because the matchmaker is the best person to predict customer satisfaction. This is one-on-one business. Matchmakers meet with their clients to get a better idea of their personality and desires in a mate. They tend to shy away from conventional means of advertising. Word-of-mouth is the best way to land a talented matchmaker.

Profits of Match Making Agencies Online dating agencies are an Internet business that reaps large profits. It's a rare business model that has continuous consumer usage and interaction between customers and online communities. It is estimated that this industry is worth $917 million, with about 40 million users. Although more free online agencies are available, many users opt to pay for a match with a mate while screening out potential predators.

Types of Match Making Agencies There is a plethora of agencies to fill almost every need. Competition is fierce, so carving out a niche is essential to the agency's survival. Some niches include: - Community Based - Caste Based - Language Based - Financial Status Based - Education Based - Indian / NRI / Foreigner

I'm in desperate need of some Valentine's Day Decor, but I haven't got a lot of funds to purchase a bunch of stuff so I've raided my craft supplies and I came up with this sweet little thing.... It's as CUTE as a BUTTON!!!

Awhile back, my Nana gave me a bunch of old buttons. They're really cool. I separated them all by color and when I got this idea to make up this cute little framed Valentine's Day decoration, I went straight to my Nana's buttons. I feel like this is a really fun way to use them. Every year I can pull out my "Little Love Button" frame and think of my Nana. So... I decided to create a little tutorial for ya...... First thing you'll need is a picture frame. I chose one that I purchased from Walmart awhile back for $2.00. Then, you'll need some Mod Podge and a brush for application (I only had the Outdoor Mod Podge on hand so I was a bit worried about using it, but it worked wonderfully). Then you'll need some mismatched buttons in various sizes, a scrap of fabric roughly the size of your frame. I choose black but I think pink would be cute too. And last but not least.....a glue gun.

I removed the glass portion out of the frame and applied the Mod Podge to one side. Then I placed my scrap of fabric onto it, smoothing with my fingers to remove any bumps. I let that dry for a bit, then trimmed any excess fabric around the glass. It doesn't have to be perfect because the edges will be hidden behind the frame anyway.

Next, I put the glass portion into the frame, fabric side facing out, and attached the backing of the frame.

Then I got my buttons together and laid them out in a way that I felt worked best for the size of the frame and size of the buttons. After I had the buttons placed, I took one button at a time, starting from the top of the "L", put a dab of glue on the back of the button, then placed it onto the black fabric. I have to admit that at first I was putting the dab of glue directly on to the fabric then placing the button, but after a few of those, I was sick of removing all those annoying glue gun strings and realized putting the glue onto the back of the button was probably a better way to do things. Much better and NO STRINGS!!

And here is the end result....

I just love it. I'm so glad that I found a use for some of my Nana's buttons. I think this thing turned out pretty cute. It was very simple to do and it only took me about 20 minutes total to gather my supplies and put the thing together from start to finish. Easy and Cheap... Just like me!! LOL

Eggless Strawberry Cream Cake Prep time: 2 Hr Cook time: 21 Mins Yields: 10-12 Servings Want to impress your special one or guests with an elegant cake? This eggless strawberry cream cake is the answer. You can’t go wrong with a moist eggless sponge cake, filled with fresh strawberries and topped with homemade whipped cream. INGREDIENTS PART 1: 1/2 cup yogurt 1/2 cup pureed soft/silken tofu 1/3 cup freshly squeezed orange juice/milk 1 teaspoon vanilla extract INGREDIENTS PART 2: 2 and 1/2 cups cake flour 2 teaspoons baking powder 1 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon orange zest (if using orange juice) INGREDIENTS PART 3: 1/2 cup softened butter 1 and 1/4 cups white sugar INGREDIENTS FOR FILLING: 2 cups strawberries, hulled and chopped 2-3 table spoons white sugar INGREDIENTS FOR FROSTING: 2 cups whipping cream (at least 35% fat) 1/4 cup white sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1/4 cup icing sugar (optional, see frosting recipe) PROCEDURE FOR THE FILLING: In a large bowl mash the strawberries and sugar lightly with a potato masher. The amount of sugar will depend upon the sweetness of the berries. Set it aside for 30-60 minutes. PROCEDURE FOR THE CAKE: Preheat the oven at 350F/180C for 15 minutes. Line two 9-inch round cake pans with parchment paper. In a medium bowl mix together the ingredients listed in Part 1 and set aside.

In another bowl sift together the Part 2 ingredients. In a large bowl cream together the butter and sugar until light and creamy. If the butter is not soft enough, the creamed mixture will resemble coarse crumbs. By adding some of the wet ingredients and then creaming it, should solve the problem. Add the wet ingredients in 3 portions beating after each addition. The mixture will look curdled, but that should not be a problem. It will be fine once we add the flour mixture. Add the dry mix and combine well. Divide the batter between the 2 pans. It’s about 2 cups of batter per pan. Bake for about 21-23 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the middle of the cake comes out clean. Transfer the pans to cooling racks. Since we have lined the pan with parchment paper, the cake should come off the pan within 15 minutes. Let it cool completely before frosting. PROCEDURE FOR WHIPPED CREAM FROSTING: Keep the bowl (which you are going to use to prepare the frosting) and the electric beaters in the freezer for at least 15-30 minutes. Place the cream, sugar and vanilla extract in the bowl and whip until stiff peak forms. I first started with 2 cups of cream and 1/4 cup of granulated white sugar. I felt that the cream was not sweet at all. I started adding a tablespoon of icing sugar and whipped it again and went on adding another 3 tablespoons of icing sugar. That’s when I felt it was sweet enough. So it’s your choice to add or not to include the additional icing sugar. ASSEMBLING THE CAKE: Level the cakes as always to remove the dome and flatten it. The prepared strawberry filling would have secreted water and you would have got a strawberrysugar syrup. Spoon out the strawberries and set it aside in another bowl. Use the strawberry syrup to brush the leveled cakes, so that the cake will absorb it and be moist for days. Do not fear of too much syrup on the cakes. The cake will keep absorbing it. Before brushing it with syrup, try to dust off the crumbs from the leveled side of the cake using a dry pastry brush. Now pour the syrup directly over the cakes or use a pastry brush to dip the syrup and brush it on the cake. Leave the cakes to soak the syrup for at least 15 minutes. Soaking it for more time is fine too. Place one cake on a serving platter or cake stand. The neat and flat side should be on the bottom and the syrup brushed aside should be on the top. Spread the strawberry filling on the cake and cover it with half of the frosting. Place the other cake on top of the filling. The syrup side should be facing down and the smooth side should be on top for this one. Cover it with the rest of the whipped cream and garnish it with whole or sliced strawberries.

To one part of the dough add the cranberries and white chocolate chips. Knead well. To the other half dough, add the blueberries and semi-sweet chocolate chips and knead well.

Cranberry Shortbread Cookies Recipe Prep time:25 Mins Cook time:18 Mins Yields:45 Cookies These dainty cranberry shortbread cookies have a “melt-in-your-mouth” texture, tastes delicious and it’s a feast to the eyes as well. INGREDIENTS: 2 Cups All Purpose Flour 1/4 Cup Cornstarch 1/4 Teaspoon Salt 1 Cup Softened Butter 3/4 Cup Confectioner’s Sugar 1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract 1/2 Cup Dried Cranberries 1/2 Cup Dried Blueberries 1/3 Cup white Chocolate Chips 1/3 Cup Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips PROCEDURE: Preheat oven to 350F/180C for 15 minutes. Line cookie sheet(s) with parchment paper. In a bowl combine together the flour, salt and cornstarch. Set aside. In another large bowl, beat butter, sugar and vanilla using an electric mixer on medium speed, until light and creamy. This may take about 4-5 minutes. On low speed, gradually add flour mixture, beating until blended. Using your hands, knead to form a smooth dough.

Now divide the dough into half and place it in two different bowls.

Scoop out tablespoonfuls of dough and drop it about 2 inches apart on prepared cookie sheet. You may choose to flatten the dough very lightly or just give it a quick roll and leave it as it is. Bake in the oven for 13-18 minutes or until lightly browned around edges. Note that these cookies do not spread. Mine were done in 16 minutes. Cool for 5 minutes on sheet, then transfer to a rack and cool completely. TASTE: Like I have mentioned before thesecranberry shortbread cookieswere so delicious and had a crumbly texture. The dried fruits gave it a nice chew too. 1/2 cup of sugar was used in the original recipe. That’s what I used in my first batch and we felt that the cookies could have been a little sweeter. So I increased it to 3/4th cup for the next batch and that’s what I have mentioned in the recipe here.

THIS VALENTINE GIFT YOUR LOVED ONES A CAREFREE LIFE – ISURANCE ! Indian insurance industry is flourishing with global players. Strong regularity norms by Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDA) have actually helped the industry to flourish. Sector reforms by government gave real boost to insurance sector which has become a center of attraction. Investment guru Mr. Warren buffet visited India last week. He wants to enter into the untapped Indian insurance market. He is planning to enter with general insurance. Insurance has become a big industry in India now; more than 20 life insurance companies are offering different products in India. In order to choose the suitable policy, it is very important to know different product offerings by all insurance companies. Type of Insurance Policies Insurance can be broadly classified into two categories life and general insurance. General Insurance General insurance is basically non life insurance, which is meant for short period of time, ideally twelve month or less. Now a day, some companies make contracts for more than twelve month but not more than 5 years. Vehicle insurance, fire insurance, marine insurance etc. falls under general insurance category. In India, ICICI Lombard, National Insurance, Oriental Insurance, Reliance, Cholamandalam MS, Tata AIG, HDFC Ergo etc provide general insurance. Life Insurance Life insurance is the most discussed stuff in the industry. Most of the people know about the insurance but they do not the difference of the same. The good thing about insurance is that the awareness has been increasing over a period of time. A decade back, people used to buy insurance because somebody forms their family or friends force him/her to buy it. But now people buy insurance to mitigate the risk. People have started understanding the need of an hour. Life insurance can be classified as whole life plan, endowment, term plan, money back plan and Unit Linked Insurance Plan (ULIP).

Whole-Life Plan – insurance company collects premium from the insured till the retirement or the term of the policy and pays the claims to the nominees only after the death of the insured person. This helps the family to survive better after the death of insured. Endowment – Insurance company collect premium form the insured for the certain period of time like 15, 20, 25, 30 years. Company pays sum assured to the nominees in case of death of the insured during the policy period or pay the premium paid by the insured with fix returns (as per policy document) to the insured. Money back – the policy is useful for that investor who needs periodical payouts. The insurance company collect premium certain period of time which is called premium payment term, and pays percentage of sum assured to the insured on regular interval. If insured dies during the policy term, insurance company pays sum assured and accrued bonus to the nominees. Term plan – in case of term insurance, insures pay premium to cover the death risk. Insured does not get anything from the insurance company, if he survives till the end of policy term. The premium paid for term cover goes to the company. The good part of this plan is, insured gets maximum death cover with minimum premium. Now a days, companies have come up with insurance with return of premium, if nothing happens to insured during the term of the policy, the company pays part of the premium back to the insured. ULIP – it is a new flavor of insurance which is a mix of investment as well as insurance. Insurance companies collects premium form client and invest the same into equity and debt markets. The returns generated by this investment are passing on to the inventors at the maturity. The insured person gets the benefit of risk cover as well as the investment gains. The product also offers the flexibility of partial withdrawal after certain period of premium payments. In case of death of Insured, the nominee gets the sum assured or fund value, which ever is higher.

Tips for Buying Insurance • Decide the objective/Goal and time frame for risk cover. The product should match your goal and the time horizon as well. • Decide the life risk (sum assured) which needs to be covered. You should not be over insured or under insured. • Compare all the available option in the selected category from all the insurance company. You can compare it online. Now days, many website provide comparison of selected product. • Do your own research about the product; try to understand the working of the selected product. • When you are investing into Unit linked Insurance plan, do not forget to choose the fund option. One should choose the fund option based on his/her risk appetite. Last but not the least, life is unpredictable and uncertain with unknown future, so be wise and insure yourself and secure tomorrow for you and your family. INSIDES OF A LOVE STORY

had just broken up with Shahid Kapoor even though her movie Jab We Metwith Shahid was due to release in October. Saif and Kareena were first spotted together while shooting for Tashan on the streets of Mumbai. That was the start of their romance. TATTOO In no time, Saif Ali Khan, smitten with his ladylove, got Kareena’s name tattooed on his forearm and he made no effort to conceal it from the world. Literally wearing his heart on his sleeve.

Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor began dating in 2007. Talking about how she fell for Saif, Kareena revealed in an interview: “We were in Ladakh to shoot Tashan. I had just broken up with Shahid Kapoor. Even though I had met Saif socially, we hadn’t spoken much. When I spotted him near the hotel pool, he was tanning on a lounge chair, clad in just jeans. I told my friend, “Oh my God… he’s so hot!...After our first shot, we chatted and he made me laugh a lot. I hope it always stays that way. Today, we are best friends. I hope marriage only adds to what we share.” Not just this, Kareena also spoke about how Saif met her mother to talk about the relationship. “So, he came and met my mother and told her, ‘She’s my woman, I want to spend the rest of my life with her. We want to live together…’ My mom was pretty cool about it. I just got my stuff together and that was it. No fuss,” Kareena said. When asked about the moment Saif Ali Khan said those three words “I Love You” to her, Kareena responded: “Actually, he never really said it… he isn’t that romantic,” Ahead, check out the complete LOVE STORY of Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor in flashback. FIRST FILM TOGETHER A lot of people mistakenly think that Tashan was Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor’s first film together. Incorrect. The duo first worked together in JP Dutta’s 2003 war drama LoC: Kargil. ROMANCE In August 2007 came the first rumour that Saif and Kareena were dating. At that time, Kareena

FIRST KISS Saif and Kareena first locked lips on camera in their 2009 film Kurbaan. The kiss became the talk of the town, but could not save the film from flopping. I WANNA MARRY BEBO - In 2009, Saif Ali Khan made the first admission that he wants to marry Kareena Kapoor. He even went on to say that if he had his way, he would marry her the next day. But Kareena had a career to take care of. HOLIDAYS - Almost every year since they started dating, Saif and Kareena take time off to holiday for a few days or even weeks. Their favourite holiday destination is Switzerland. In fact, it was recently joked that Kareena and Saif have already had their 249 honeymoons. The 250th one would be after their marriage. PADAMSHREE - In 2010 when Saif was awarded the Padam Shri civilian award, Kareena was by his side. POLO - Kareena was by Saif’s side when he was anointed the 10th Nawab of Pataudi a few months ago after the passing away of his father Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi. The two were later seen enjoying the Polo match. Saif has endorsed the game. I WANNA MARRY SAIF Finally, on March 16, 2012, at India Today Conclave, Kareena Kapoor spoke for the first time about her plan of getting married with Saif. She said she might marry him by the end of 2012.

Both of you have done three films together so far- LOC, TASHAN and KURBAAN. So, what are the changes you have seen in each other as actors?

And Kareena, who looks best with Saif onscreen? Rani Mukherji looks really nice with Saif...I like to see them together on-screen. You are considered as Bollywood's sexiest couple. What keeps you ticking while there are news of celebrity break-ups every other day? Saif: May be, because we are most comfortable with each other. What are the qualities you like the most about each other? Saif: Kareena's honesty, her childishness Kareena: I love Saif's carefree attitude

Saif: Oh my God! You journos ask questions that reminds me of schooldays. LOC was some 11 years back...so don't remember at all. In TASHAN, Kareenaji was cast opposite Akshay Kumarji, while I was in love with my red belt. It was only in KURBAAN that we were finally cast opposite each other. But talking about Kareena's acting, I think she is one of the most talented actresses of Indian cinema. Kareena: Working with Saif is a learning experience...really! He is a perfect combination of method and spontaneous acting. Besides, Saif and Aamir (Khan) are the only actors who can easily mould themselves as the characters they portray on-screen; they get into the head of the characters.

Question for Kareena. You have worked with all the 4 Khans of Bollywood. So, whom are you most comfortable with? See, I am comfortable with all of them-Shah Rukh, Aamir, Salman and Saif...I know them since my childhood as they were my sister's (Karisma Kapoor) co-stars as well. Saif, who looks best on-screen with Kareena? I think, on-screen Kareena look best with Akshay Kumar and Shah Rukh.

What do you dislike about each other? Saif: Her anger Kareena: He thinks too much. I wish he can cut on that. Why do you think women find Saif attractive? Kareena: Because he has an extremely attractive personality And why do men find Kareena hot? Saif: Because of her gorgeous aura, her eyes, her naughty heels How insecure do you feel when women go 'ga ga' after Saif? Kareena: There are no insecurities. In fact, I want women to crowd around and run after Saif at parties and other places...because he is hot. Saif, do you feel insecure when other men blow whistles at Kareena? Saif: As long as they are not doing it with a bad intention, I am cool with it. We are in show business and we know how to handle these situations.

SPECIAL 26 REVIEW Neeraj Pandey's directorial debut A WEDNESDAY, which made a strong social statement, remains fresh to this date. It's one of those rare movies that won critical acclaim, swept major awards and reaped box-office rewards as well. The supremely talented storyteller now carries a major responsibility on his shoulders: SPECIAL 26 has to be a worthy follow up to A WEDNESDAY. While A WEDNESDAY was about the common man, his second attempt, SPECIAL 26 is about a con man. Sorry, con men. The core issue remains the same: Law breakers and law enforcers. SPECIAL 26, however, is more of a caper, inspired by true incidents. A quick clarification before I proceed further. SPECIAL 26 is not one of those mindless masala entertainers with leave-your-brains-at-home attitude. You may assume it's one because Akshay Kumar is synonymous with films like HOUSEFULL series, ROWDY RATHORE and KHILADI 786. SPECIAL 26, which borrows from real-life incidents, is a heist drama, has no forced humor, no South-styled stunts, no songand-dance routine with foreign dancers in the background. SPECIAL 26 is more of a 'treatment' movie, a plot-driven fare. So, there! SPECIAL 26 brings to the big screen the scandalous and outrageous incidents that occurred in the 1980s. The film narrates the story of a group of con men who orchestrated and executed a series of robberies, targeting the rich and famous, business magnets and politicians by posing as CBI or IT officers, under the pretext of confiscating unaccounted wealth [black money] from their premises. SPECIAL 26 encompasses three startling cases that sent a shiver down the spine of many a businessman in the 1980s. What makes the film tick is the manner in which Neeraj Pandey integrates these episodes in a sequence and develops a clever cat and mouse saga between law breakers and law enforcers. Like A WEDNESDAY, SPECIAL 26 also sets you thinking, but the motive this time is not to convey any message or make any social statement. The intention is crystal clear: Make an entertainer with a refreshingly different premise, which is a 360degree transition from the customary masala fare. Yet, it's sharp, intelligent and thoroughly enjoyable.

Although SPECIAL 26 is about criminals, Neeraj shuns the unwanted bloodshed/violence and coarse language that would make the spectator uncomfortable. On the contrary, a film like SPECIAL 26 teaches you that you can attempt a thriller without resorting to the above-mentioned components, yet make a slick period thriller that's thoroughly engaging and charming. Also, since it's a period film [depicting the 1980s], Neeraj seems meticulous about everything that appears on screen, from vehicles to clothing to ambience to the overall look and feel. Blemishes? Yes, the romantic track is an eye-sore. Was it necessary to include romance and songs in this movie? Why, Neeraj? The first half gets diluted for this reason, although the post-interval portions are simply outstanding. Bobby Singh's cinematography is top notch and captures the bygone era with flourish. Now to the performances! Akshay Kumar does a complete U-turn with SPECIAL 26. Deviating from the comic/action roles he is recognized for, Akshay truly reinvents himself with SPECIAL 26. No two opinions on that. This is, without doubt, one of the most challenging roles in his career and the seasoned actor enacts it with complete authority. Manoj Bajpayee has been associated with several path-breaking/cult films and one must add SPECIAL 26 to his fascinating repertoire. The skilled actor delivers yet another noteworthy performance that'll be hard to erase from your memory. Anupam Kher is another splendid actor who has an illustrious body of work and his part and performance in SPECIAL 26 is truly special. In fact, together with Akshay, Anupam and Manoj add so much power to the written scenes and lines. Jimmy Sheirgill is first-rate, although the focus is primarily on the above-named three actors. Kajal Agarwal, who plays Akshay's love interest in the film, doesn't have anything substantial to do. Rajesh Sharma and Kishore Kadam lend superior support. Divya Dutta has a brief role, which she enacts well. Deepraj Rana is alright. On the whole, SPECIAL 26 is an intelligently woven, slick and smart period thriller with its subject matter as its USP. A film that's sure to win accolades, acclaim and awards. Also, box-office rewards!

ABCD - REVIEW The first time I heard the title of his new movie, I asked Remo D'Souza, can anybody [and everybody] dance? But you get the response while surfing television channels: Dance-based shows have become a prerequisite for the programming department of most channels. From kids to young couples to even senior citizens, these dance-based shows feature just about anyone and everyone with the passion for dance. There's no 'age limit', frankly. Come to think of it, music and dance are an integral part of our culture and day-to-day life. We love dancing, don't we? Dancing on the streets, during weddings, birthday celebrations, festivals... we also break into a dance when India wins a crucial cricket match against a strong opponent. Of course, there are hiccups [more on that later], but the triumph of the underdog, if attempted with conviction, seldom fails. And ABCD - ANY BODY CAN DANCE does have its share of moments that work! For Vishnu [Prabhu Dheva], dance is more than a passion -- it's the reason he lives! So when he finds himself thrown out from the dance academy he himself set up by his manipulative business partner [Kay Kay Menon], it feels like the oxygen has been sucked out from the air he breathes. Heart-broken, Vishnu decides to give up dance and leave Mumbai forever. However, the night before his departure, he witnesses a most amazing sight -- a group of raw talent preparing for the upcoming dance competition during the Ganeshotsav. An annual festival that pits Mumbai's best dance groups against each other. Watching the amazing dancers helps Vishnu arrive at a decision. He decides to take this disparate group under his wing, help them overcome their personal rivalries and past demons and turn them into India's best dance squad! Ideally, a well-known choreographer would make his directorial debut with a dance-based film, but after making a statement on the education system in F.A.L.T.U. [his first Hindi film, after attempting a Bengali film], Remo's second Hindi outing ABCD – ANY BODY CAN DANCE revolves around dance and dancers. Naturally then, ABCD - ANY BODY CAN DANCE boasts of some spectacular dance pieces, with Remo bringing alive estimable vigor, energy and

imagination on the big screen. He blends the emotional quotient with dance and music and presto! You can't take your eyes off the screen every time a dance breaks out. ABCD - ANY BODY CAN DANCE's biggest strength lies in the variety of dances that Remo presents to the spectators. Where the film falters is in its skeletal plotline, although writer Tushar Hiranandani comes up with several knockout sequences. But there's no denying that the screenwriting deviates into the conventional and foreseeable zone in the second hour. The curse of the second half [most films run out of steam in the post-interval portions] looms large here too, as Remo resorts to clichĂŠs to carry the story forward. Besides, the film is stretched by at least 15/20 minutes. Thankfully, the narrative gathers steam once again towards the closing portions and the dance competition in the finale is simply breathtaking. Sachin-Jigar create a winsome soundtrack for the film, complimenting the theme of the movie. 'Bezuban' is, without a shred of doubt, the pick of the lot and its choreography is breathtaking. Also, the track during the end credits, featuring greats such as Saroj Khan, Prabhu Dheva, Ganesh Acharya and of course, Remo, is another crackling number. The Ganeshotsav song in also stays with you. The choreography of each song and dance piece deserves distinction marks. It's truly inventive and pop out from all kinds of places. The camerawork is perfect, while the 3D may seem gimmicky at times, but accentuates the impact of several scenes, especially the dance pieces. Prabhu Dheva returns to the acting arena after a hiatus. Regarded as the dance legend by many, Prabhu is, expectedly, incomparable in dances, but the good news is that he handles the dramatic scenes well too. It's all the more significant since he's pitted against no less than Kay Kay Menon, a tremendous talent. Kay Kay is, as always, natural to the core, essaying his part with flourish. Ganesh Acharya is a revelation. He's efficient in a significant role. On the whole, ABCD - has some incredible, eyepopping dances as its soul. While the template may be conventional -- the triumph of the underdog -- the film has its share of moments that stay with you, especially the concluding portions of the film. Decent watch!
