The conversion of Marinduque Institute of Science and Technology into a State College in 1990, under RA. 6833 made the Marinduque State College the province premiere institution of higher learning. In 1992, through RA. 7319 satellite campuses were established in response to the demand of the public in increasing services. One of these campuses was the Marinduque Community College in Sta. Cruz, which was absorbed together with its Arts and Science related curriculum.
