Learning MEDICINE WRAP

The Stroke unit would like to congratulate their Nursing Associates Hannah Carey and Charlotte Harper who have completed the course.

Mabel Nyakunegwa and Kerry Thomas have just started training which will mean the unit has staff who are well versed and experienced in caring for stroke patients.

THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW

From our Culture workstream: Freedom To Speak Up (FTSU) wouldn’t be possible without the FTSU Guardians, but also the FTSU Ambassadors.

We are looking forAmbassadors from Medicine and Emergency Care. The voluntary role is vital in raising awareness of FTSU with colleagues and promoting a positive speaking up culture.

This type of infection is a notifiable event. The UKHSA will provide assistance in ensuring we keep contacts safe, they will happily do some of the thinking to ensure we get such decisions right.

Cardiology and Respiratory referral process: On Monday 16 December, there will be an updated referral mechanism for CardiologyandRespiratory

The referral forms will remain accessible via the Cardiology and Respiratory pages of the SaTH intranet however, the hyperlinks will now generate an online referral, moving away from the paper download and email forms.

The referrals will be sent automatically to the appropriate inbox for triage depending on the site selected on the form. The referrer will then receive a confirmation to their email address with the details that have been submitted.
