We believe important financial decisions should be kept local and made by people who understand what matters most to you. WE ADMIRE WOMEN WHO: Mean business, like our members of the bank’s Community Advisory Board. THE SECRET TO GOOD BUSINESS IN SAVANNAH IS: Building meaningful relationships within the community where you do business. This takes time, persistence and a genuine, vested interest in the local people and places.
LEADERSHIP STYLE: For BankSouth’s Savannah market president and senior vice president, Laura Moore, it’s simple: “Leaders cannot only be results-driven. People are looking for leaders who lead by example and demonstrate their ability to be honest, consistent, competent and forward-looking. If you can exemplify those attributes, the results will not only come, but they also will surpass any and all of your expectations.” WE HOPE MORE WOMEN WILL: Continue to lead! MY MISSION IS TO: Convey that ABR’s mission is to facilitate our clients’ achievement of their goals. Whether that is recommending devices such as printers, multifunction devices, interactive white boards, presentation peripherals, or assisting with an all-encompassing document management solution, our success is measured by others’ successes. THE SECRET TO GOOD BUSINESS IN SAVANNAH IS: To under-promise and over-deliver. If we enable our clients to achieve their goals, then we have accomplished plenty. Savannah has been an amazing environment for ABR. Our city is large enough to offer growth opportunities and intimate enough to cultivate relationships. THE BEST BUSINESS ADVICE I EVER RECEIVED: Set a goal and work hard to achieve it! When I

transferred to Georgia Southern from the University of Houston, my father told me to take my transcript to the registrar and find out what degree I could complete within the least amount of time. He said, “You aren’t going to pursue post graduate studies to be a specialist, so your degreee represents setting a goal and accomplishing it. That is what will make you successful.” That is as true now as it was then. I’M THANKFUL FOR: Savannah’s support of ABR for the past 32 years. It is part of our mission to reciprocate by supporting our community. Historically, we have supported The United Way, Congregation Mickve Israel’s Shalom Y’all, The Davenport House, as well as our partnership with the Savannah Bananas. We are pursuing other opportunities in which to give back!

OUR PATIENTS OFTEN ASK US: What they should consider before purchasing a hearing aid. The most important step is selecting a Doctor of Audiology to help guide them through the selection and rehabilitation process. This is a very individualized process as one-size-fits-all does not apply to hearing loss or a patient’s perception of sound. OUR GOAL IS: To provide Savannah area residents with a premiere level of hearing care by offering customized hearing solutions based on an individual’s hearing loss, listening needs, lifestyle and budget. We work with all of our patients to make sure their needs are met and that they have maximized their residual hearing abilities.
A RECENT BREAKTHROUGH IN OUR FIELD: We see evidence that hearing aids are a prevention against accelerated cognitive decline associated with hearing loss. Researchers agree that cognitive decline is likely related to the lack of social interaction that older adults have because of their hearing loss. The assumption has been that if people use hearing aids and become socially active again, then they would decrease their risk of a more rapid decline in cognitive skills. MAY IS BETTER SPEECH AND HEARING MONTH: Celebrate with us May 9-11! Schedule an appointment at one of our locations on Frederick Street, at The Landings or in Pooler for a complimentary evaluation and consultation by a doctor of audiology.

MISSION IS TO: I strive to help my patients, but also my neighbors, friends, family and community in understanding and following the best skin care practices available. I am committed to sharing the latest information available on skin care and research, particularly on increasingly significant healthcare issues such as the risks of melanoma. MY TOOLS OF THE TRADE: We offer a relaxed, well-appointed office setting with a caring and talented staff that focuses on careful evaluation and treatment of our patients’ underlying causes as well as their symptoms. We also share product samples with our patients to get their feedback before we ask them to invest in a particular item. That feedback was instrumental as we developed and recently introduced Howington Skin Care, a unique product line of 15 skin care solutions. THE SECRET TO GOOD BUSINESS IN SAVANNAH: A business should invest in the local community by giving back to that community. Our office frequently holds donation drives for the Ronald McDonald House of the Coastal Empire, and we sponsor the annual Wine, Women and Shoes event every year. We’ve also donated skin care items to the Lowcountry Down Syndrome Society’s annual Camp Buddy.

THE SECRET TO DOING GOOD BUSINESS IN SAVANNAH IS: Understanding the power of positive word of mouth, especially in this trade. I ADMIRE WOMEN WHO: Are strong, decisive and stick with their convictions. There isn’t anything a woman cannot do if she puts her mind to it.

YOU’D NEVER GUESS THAT: I have a fish bucket list. I enjoy offshore and flats fishing. Living in Savannah, it is easy to understand the draw of being on the water, but combine it with the thrill of reeling in a fighting fish, and you’ll know why I’m hooked. I’M THANKFUL FOR: My family and their steadfast support. I grew up hearing, “Nothing worth having comes easily,” and I learned this to be true. My family taught me to set high expectations and work hard to achieve my dreams.

I EMPOWER WOMEN BY: Teaching them to find a balance between knowledge and caring. Women listen with their heads and their hearts. The power of emotion forms a bridge between our heads and our hearts, which strengthens our communication skills and builds the trust women need to function effectively. I ADMIRE WOMEN WHO: Aren’t afraid to “play in traffic.” While we face speeding cars, buses and other obstacles daily, I admire the woman who steps off of the sidewalk to overcome those challenges and not settle for only one side of life’s daily adventures. WOMEN ARE SUCCESSFUL WHEN: They reach their destinations in life and proceed to own those destinies. “Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light.” - Berne’ Brown. I serve as an enabling guide, monitoring my clients’ hard work and progress toward finding their personal “light.”

The connections you cultivate through your community involvement have the opportunity to evolve into relationships that will help you grow your professional career. As a community, we are stronger if we support each other. I ADMIRE WOMEN WHO: Are able to achieve balance between their personal and professional commitments, all while maintaining a constant presence within the community. I HOPE MORE WOMEN WILL: Realize their capabilities. Surround yourself with individuals who encourage you to give your very best and recognize your full potential.

BEST LIFE ADVICE I EVER RECEIVED: “Always say thank you; never thanks.” - Diana Morrison, Advertising Specialty Services. Acknowledging an individual and expressing gratitude for their personal action is more important that the action itself. If someone takes the time to help, show appreciation for their effort. I’M THANKFUL FOR: My intuitive nature, constant passion and ability to help businesses accelerate their brand. I’M PROUD OF: The creative community in Savannah. Having a successful branding studio for more than 13 years has allowed me to attract and keep talent in the area. My team supports nearly 50 brands throughout the Southeast. Leveraging the collective knowledge and expertise of those companies has given me the experience to launch two additional businesses, Salacia and Faux Show. Another contribution to Savannah’s creative community is cSpot, a networking group I founded to give local creatives a forum in which to connect.

MY MISSION IS: To provide professional, on-site estate sale and liquidation services. We handle all of the details from start to finish. Often, our clients have recently lost a loved one when they call us. It is a very difficult time for them, and we complete the job seamlessly. MY TOOLS OF THE TRADE ARE: An endless supply of tables, racks, bins and organizational materials. When we stage a home for an estate sale, essentially we are putting someone’s life on display. We make sure that everything is nice and tidy and beautifully merchandised. THE SECRET TO GOOD BUSINESS IN SAVANNAH IS: A strong word-of-mouth

reputation. We have hosted estate sales in almost every neighborhood in the Savannah area. It’s always nice to hear that we were recommended by a friend, family member or neighbor. WE’VE LEARNED FROM ExpERIENCE THAT: Families oftentimes feel overwhelmed with the task of divesting of a loved one’s estate and begin giving items away. Thinning out the estate could jeopardize the opportunity to have a successful on-site estate sale. A professional liquidator can help. We offer free consultations with no obligation.
