Law Week 2010 Events WELCOME TO VCAT On Saturday 22nd May 2010, the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT) will open to the Victorian community from 9.30am to 12.30pm for an interactive and informative experience. Participants can Engage with Tribunal staff in question and answer sessions Visit the innovative Customer Service Centre facilities Participate in interactive mock hearings conducted by Tribunal Members inviting audience participation. Come to VCAT's open day and find out how this dispute in the Civil Claims List might be determined. What is it like to be Alice Tenant when you want your bond back? What is it like to be Anthony Landlord when the house has been left in a state of disaster? Come to VCAT's open day and find out how this dispute in the Residential Tenancies List might be determined. “Taking it to VCAT”- A question and answer session by a VCAT Member The Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT) has recently launched “Taking it to VCAT”, a DVD and accompanying booklet to assist to inform the community about VCAT and aims to demystify the process of bringing an application to the Tribunal. Taking it to VCAT provides a guide to Residential Tenancies, Civil Claims and Owners Corporation disputes.

VCAT presents “Litigation Self Rescue” "I've been sued? What can I do?" "I really don't want to sue them, but what alternatives do I have?" There are lots of things you can do to reach your own solution; a solution that all parties can live with. "Litigation Self Rescue" is a short seminar by VCAT members and mediators about what to do and how to do it, particularly for disputes in building contracts, consumer contracts, planning and anti-discrimination.
