NB! Every time the student clicks on an icon, the words will be repeated, so as to make it easier for the student to learn and recognise the words.

The arrow lets you skip this exercise.


“Click on the things and find out what they are called.�

Description:

Click on each icon to hear the pronunciation of the word.

Purpose: This exercise introduces a set of words. Although the student might not understand the words yet, the exercise will help him or her with vocabulary and word recognition.


“Hear what I say and then click on the right thing.�

Description:

Listen to what word the flamingo says, and then click on the corresponding picture.

Purpose:

This exercise helps the student become familiar with the words and to connect the sound of the word with its corresponding picture.


“Are you ready to make a picture?�

Description:

Drag the puzzle pieces to their right position and finish the puzzle.

Purpose:

This puzzle will help the student make the connection between the picture and the word it represents.


“Can you drag the right words?�

Description:

Drag the word beginning with the right letter into the correct box.

Purpose:

The student learns how the letters are pronounced and how to begin spelling the words.


“Can you catch it?”

Description:

Follow the fishing line and click on the picture it is connected to.

Purpose:

Repetition of the words and further build-up of vocabulary.


“Are you ready to see how many words you remember?�

Description:

Match the two corresponding pictures with each other by clicking on the icons until two match.

Purpose:

The words are repeated to let the student learn the sound and image of each word better.


“Listen to what I say and catch it.�

Description:

Click on the icon representing the word, that the flamingo is saying, to catch it.

Purpose:

The student will learn to understand the connection between spoken words and pictures.


“Repeat what you hear.”

Description:

Listen to the flamingo’s pronunciation of the word and then record yourself saying the word.

Purpose:

The student will practise his or her pronunciation.


“Now, drag the words into the transmogrifier.�

Description:

Put the two flamingos into the box, one at a time, to make them change into representations of the words they are holding.

Purpose:

To make the student understand two opposing words using visual representation.


“In this round you have to match images with sounds.�

Description:

Match the loudspeaker icon to its corresponding picture.

Purpose:

After having heard the words pronounced throughout the game, the student should be able to make the connection between sound and image.


“Listen to what you have to paint.�

Description:

Listen to what word the flamingo says, and paint the flamingo holding the corresponding picture, any colour you want.

Purpose:

The student learns the colours, and also how to connect sound with images.


“The word is not spelled correctly.�

Description:

Move the wide strips of the picture to make one, complete picture, including a correctly spelled word at the bottom. (see next slide)

Purpose:

The student learns spelling as well as word and image recognition.
