I THOUGHT ITS WAS A GIANT ARROW POINTING TO A PET CEMETERY.

Week 3

By Sam Wallace WOW! I NEED TO COME TO TOWN MORE OFTEN.

WHY DO YOU SAY THAT?

I JUST SAW A GIANT GOOSE READING THE NEWSPAPER AT 4TH & TERRY.

Week 4 By Sam Wallace DADGUMB! THAT’S THE LOUDEST TRAIN HORN I’VE EVER HEARD.

WHAT!

I SAID THAT’S...

I CAN’ T HEAR YOU. THE TRAIN HORN WAS WAY TOO LOUD!

OH, THE TRAIN HORN DEAFENED HIM. NOW HE’S EXTRA LOUD.

I GOT HIT BY THE TRAIN.

DIDN’ T YOU HEAR THE HORN?

Week 7 By Sam Wallace WOW! THAT GUY IS GOING WAY TOO FAST. ARE YOU OK?

DID YOU GET THE LICENSE PLATE OFF OF THAT BUS?

BUS? HA! THAT WAS A LITTLE KID ON A BICYCLE.

Week 8 By Sam Wallace LONGMONT’S BICYCLISTS SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE

ACCOUNTABLE FOR WHAT?

THEY ARE INCONSIDERATE ROAD HOGS, THEY DON’ T OBEY TRAFFIC RULES, AND THEY ARE WAY TOO SLOW.

AAAH... YOU’RE JUST JEALOUS CAUSE YOU DON’ T KNOW HOW TO RIDE A BIKE!

Week 9 By Sam Wallace WHEN I WAS A KID, MY BIKE MEANT FREEDOM. I RODE TO SUNSET POOL, TO TOWN, EVERYWHERE!

OH! SO YOU WERE ONE OF THOSE RECKLESS, GO ANYWHERE, DEVIANT TYPE OF BIKERS.

NOW, THERE ARE SO MANY TRAFFIC RULES, HELMETS, AND BIKE PATHS, IT’S LIKE ALL OF THE FREEDOM IS GONE.

AS IT SHOULD BE!

Week 10 By Sam Wallace I’M GONNA GO UP IN A HOT AIR BALLOON.

A HOT AIR BALLOON... ARE YOU CRAZY?!

NAH COME ON, JUST THINK OF THE SWEET VIEW OF THE FRONT RANGE. I BET I’LL EVEN SEE PIKES PEAK!

JUST THINK OF ALL THE SMOG, NOT TO MENTION THE SMELL OF ALL THE WARM PASTURES.

Week 11 By Sam Wallace FARMER WOW GIBSON, GUESS WHAT? HARTMAN, I’M GONNA TAKE A THAT’S HOT AIR BALLON GREAT! RIDE!

IT SEEMS TO ME THAT THERE IS A TOWN AROUND HERE THAT HAS A HOT AIR BALLOON FESTIVAL. I JUST CAN’ T SEEM TO THINK OF THE TOWNS NAME.

IT’S ERIE.

KIND OF FUNNY MAYBE, EVEN A LITTLE SENILE, BUT NOT ERIE.

Week 12 By Sam Wallace FARMER GIBSON, DO YOU WANT TO GO UP IN A HOT AIR BALLOON WITH ME?

ME? UH... NO THANKS.

YOU SEE, EVER SINCE NOVEMBER FIRST 1955, I HAVE BEEN AFRAID OF ANY THING THAT FLIES.

PLEASE TAKE A MOMENT OF SILENCE FOR THE 43 PEOPLE WHO DIED THAT NIGHT ON THE UNITED FLIGHT.

Week 13 By Sam Wallace HOW ABOUT YOU KUNER, DO YOU WANT TO COME WITH ME UP IN A HOT AIR BALLOON?

ME IN A HOT AIR BALLOON? NOT MY THING.

ANY THING THAT IS NOT YOUR THING. WHAT EXACTLY IS YOUR THING KUNER?

Week 14 By Sam Wallace WOW! NOTHING IS BETTER THAN LIVING IN COLORADO.

Week 15 By Sam Wallace THIS IS AWESOME! I CAN’ T BELIEVE FARMER GIBSON & KUNER ARE NOT UP HERE IN THIS HOT AIR BALLOON TO SEE THIS VIEW. I SURE MISS THOSE TWO.

LOOK OUT BELOW! UH OH!

Week 16 By Sam Wallace THAT HOT AIR BALLOON RIDE WAS REALLY COOL!

I COULD EVEN SEE OUR FARM. THEN I STARTED GETTING HOME SICK AND SAD. I EVEN MISSED KUNER.

I’M JUST MINDING MY @#*% BUSINESS, WHEN THIS FREAKING SAND BAG FALLS OUT OF THE SKY AND LANDS ON MY *%$# HEAD. LOOKS LIKE I DIDN’ T MISS KUNER AFTER ALL.

Week 17 By Sam Wallace FARMER GIBSON, CHECK OUT MY NEW GPS.

WOW, THAT’S NEAT! UHH... WHATS A GPS?

A GPS IS A Global SHOOT, I CAN TELL YOU THAT STUFF. YOU Positioning System, a ARE A SUGAR BEET, I PLANTED YOU satellite-based navigation system made up AND WATCHED YOU GROW. YOU LIVE of a network of 24 satellites placed into ON THE LA JOLLA FARM IN LONGMONT orbit by the U.S. Department of Defense. THE satellites circle the COLOROADO. earth twice a day in a very precise orbit and transmit signal information to earth. GPS receivers take this information and use triangulation to calculate the user’s exact location.

BASICALLY A GPS TELLS YOU WHERE YOU ARE AND HOW YOU GOT THERE.

Week 18 By Sam Wallace SO HARTMAN, WHAT DO YOU DO WITH A GPS?

THERE’S ALL SORTS OF STUFF YOU CAN DO WITH A GPS. WE CAN TAKE IT When WE GO camping, AND use it to find OUR campSITE when WE go on a hike SO WE DON’ T GET LOST, OR WE can locate the BEST FISHING spot YEAR AFTER YEAR, PLUS THEY ARE REALLY COOL.

I STILL DON’ T GET IT. I GUESS I’M LOST.

THAT’S JUST IT. A GPS HELPS YOU NOT GET LOST.

Week 19 By Sam Wallace SO THERE ARE A BUNCH OF SATELLITES THAT TRIANGULATE THE POSITION OF THIS GPS THINGY.

YES, HELLO. CAN YOU TELL ME WHERE TO GET THE BEST BURRITO IN LONGMONT? SIMPLE, UH OH! REALLY.

HARTMAN, I THINK I BROKE YOUR GPS, IT DIDN’ T GIVE ME AN ANSWER.

I THINK YOU ARE STILL A LITTLE LOST.

Week 20 By Sam Wallace WHAT THE @#!% ARE YOU DOING WITH A GPS?

I’M GLAD YOU ASKED KUNER, I WANT TO GO UP TO ROCKY MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK TO CAMP AND HIKE...

so i got this gps to help us not get lost. YOU SHOULD COME, IT WILL BE GREAT. WE CAN HAVE OUR OWN little vacation Close to home. WHAT DO YOU SAY?

HARTMAN, IF I WERE TO GO ON A VACATION WITH YOU, I WOULD NEED A VACATION FROM MY VACATION!

Week 21 By Sam Wallace THAT WAY I KNOW EXACTLY WHERE HE ISN’ T.

WHAT HARTMAN DOESN’ T KNOW IS THAT...

I HAVE BEEN TRACKING HIS EVERY MOVE WITH MY GPS.

Week 22 By Sam Wallace THANKS FOR DRIVING US UP TO ROCKY MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK TO OUR CAMPSITE.

NO PROBLEM HARTMAN.

YOU KNOW, THIS OLD TRACTOR HAS A LOT OF LIFE LEFT. SHE HAS NEVER LET ME DOWN AND ALWAYS GETS ME WHERE I NEED TO BE...

JUST VERY SLOWLY.

Week 23 By Sam Wallace I RE-CONFIGURED HIS GPS TO LEAD HIM TO OUR CAMPSITE. WHAT KUNER DOESN’ T KNOW IS THAT...

I ESTIMATE HIM ARRIVING HERE ANY...

KUNER! I’M SO GLAD YOU COULD MAKE IT. MINUTE.

Week 24 By Sam Wallace

WO OS
