Note from our Presidents The last club season was a difficult one, yet the gardens persisted. Dare we say, they look better than ever? It was so heartwarming to see our members come together to not only care for the plantings but each other. When we gathered for meetings or the new Days of Service, any troubles were quickly set aside as we shared our new accomplishments, marveled at seedlings growing strong or shared new tips and resources with each other. In the community, we’ve seen people who have never been interested in gardening take it up with verve and those that are already avid gardeners have deepened their commitment and expanded their interests. At last season’s final meeting we asked for input on what our members were interested in for this year. There was a resounding interest in propagation. We listened and chose it for our theme this season. The focus will be on growing more plants. Additionally, we strive to gain more horticultural and design skills. Perhaps most ambitious is our goal to propagate more gardeners and community allies. A 2021 award from the Garden Club of NJ cited Shrewsbury Garden Club for increasing our membership. We are dedicated to do so. Our activities this season feature a hands-on propagation workshop, a seed starting challenge, a floral design class and more programs to encourage us all to keep learning new things and growing our love of gardening. We encourage you to spread the word of the good things happening when you are a part of the Shrewsbury Garden Club.
