LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE A leadership void is looming in the accounting profession. The American Institute of CPAs estimates that 75 percent of today’s CPAs – by and large the baby boomers – will be retiring within the next 15 years. Preparing the next tier of CPAs to assume leadership roles is critical to the future of the profession and your organization. For public accounting firms it is not just about recruiting qualified staff, but identifying gaps in succession and training top talent. For CPAs in business and industry, government and nonprofit, strong leaders are vital to the success of the organization and must be equipped to design and execute business strategy. To meet this ongoing challenge, the S.C. Association of CPAs is launching the CPA Leadership Institute, the only local program designed specifically for accounting professionals. Limited to 20 participants, this five month intensive training program combines live classes and webinars. The program incorporates actual case studies of relevance to the accounting profession and enables young CPAs to develop the skill set necessary to become the next generation of leaders.
