Adam Names more Animals

Page 1

In the Garden of Eden, there were a lot of animals. But none of them had names. Then, one day God brought all the animals to Adam for him to give each of them a name. First was a huge, gray animal. It had a trunk and big, floppy ears. “Ah,” said Adam. “I think you should be called Elephant.” “Vrruuu!” the elephant said as he blew a loud ‘thank you’.

The next animal was wagging his tail so much that he couldn’t stand still. “Ruff, ruff!” he barked from the excitement of getting a name. Adam smiled, patted the brown animal and said, “You will be called Dog.”

Next, a beautiful little animal came flying through the air. Adam held out his hand, and it landed on him. It had a small, yellow beak and a long tail. “You will be named Bird,” Adam said. “Chirp, chirp!” the bird sang as to tell everyone about his name.

Suddenly, Adam felt something warm and soft tickling his neck, and he turned around to find a tall, brown animal standing on four legs. “Niiihihi, niiihihi!” it neighed and kicked. He couldn’t wait to get a name, too! “Hello, Horse,” Adam said, and the horse answered back, “Niiihihihi!”

Adam continued naming all the animals. It took a very long time. In the end only two animals were left to be named. The first one sat in front of Adam, and it had big paws and a huge mane. It looked so soft! ”You will be Lion,” Adam said, and the lion roared a big ‘Thank you’ - “Roaaaaar.”

Adam was finally down to the last animal, but he couldn’t see it. Where could it be? He looked up in the trees and down in the grass, but he couldn’t find it anywhere. Then, he heard a tiny ‘squeek, squeek’, and out from the lion’s huge mane came a little, white animal with a long, thin tail! “Ha, ha, ha,” Adam laughed and said, “So, you are the little Mouse.” The mouse made a little ‘squeek’, nodding her head. Finally, all of the animals had received names, and Adam met a lot of new friends that day, too.
