The Mecklenburg Lake Plateau is a true paradise for lovers of nature and water. The region with its more than 1,000 lakes, rivers and canals offers numerous options for a relaxing time on the water.

Two, three, four, five or six lake-cruises? No matter which option, the trips promise one thing above all: recreation and relaxation. For while Captain Pickran steers the ship safely through the waters the guests are looked after by the friendly team on board. They can get their fill of an ever-changing beautiful scenery or see sights such as the monastery complex and church Malchow; pass romantic hidden corners, glide through small canals. “On the tours that start here in Malchow guests will also get a look a the swing bridge that opens the route to the Fleesensee,” adds Captain Pickran.

What is it that fascinates him, the captain, about the lake plateau? “On the one hand of course, it’s the fascinating nature. The count- less lakes, rivers, woods and meadows. That is truly unique. The variety of plants and animals – with a little bit of luck our guests will see sea eagles, ospreys, great egrets or grey herons. This mixture creates a very particular atmosphere.”
