If they want to explore Sullivan County, the Inn staff is happy to provide maps and discuss driving tours to the local small towns, hiking areas or activities at popular venues. “We strive to give our guests whatever experience they are looking for, and tune into what they want,” says Rue. And, if you’d like to bring man’s best friend along, there are dog-friendly rooms available.

Sit back and relax with a lovely bath in the jetted tub. And warm up afterwards next to the cozy in-room fireplace. Also, breakfast is cooked-to-order daily.

parades like no other

by Joseph Abraham

hose who love truly unique events are never disappointed on the second weekend each June. On two consecutive days, in two Sullivan County hamlets, trout and tractors take center stage. First on Saturday, June 8, head down to Livingston Manor for the Trout Parade. There’s no-fin like this annual street fair produced by the Catskill Art Society (CAS) in partnership with the Livingston Manor Chamber of Commerce. The event was created to bring together the Livingston Manor region and the Catskills at large. The Trout Parade is not only Sullivan County’s foremost art parade, but the proceeds it generates from individual donations and the sale of parade merchandise will help to support community organizations. For more info, email info@catskillartsociety.org.

T

After all the fun in Manor, you’ll want a parade reef-ill. And you’re in luck. The next day, Sunday, June 9, head southwest to Callicoon and get in gear with the hamlet’s anAnything fishy goes nual Tractor Parade, as the fun rolls through Main Street. The Annual Callicoon Tractor Parade hosted by the Delaware Youth Center kicks off with the noon whistle! Come for the tractors ... stay for the barbecue on the Youth Center grounds after the big parade! This year the DYC will be serving pulled pork raised right in Callicoon by Chaljeri Meats and prepared by The Ugly Smoker Pit BBQ, owners Tanya and Dwayne Hubbert. Proceeds from the barbecue help keep DYC facilities open for everyone in our community. Tickets will go on sale in advance. Contact tractor@delawareyouthcenter.org for tickets and info or stop in the Delaware River Solar office at 3 Bridge St in Callicoon to get them in person.
