Blackline Athletic Sports Performance Training Camps Blackline Athletic Sports Performance provides training and conditioning for youth and adult athletes using the Nike-SPARQ platform of speed, power, agility, reaction and quickness. Blackline Athletic staff teaches progressive and dynamic athletic drills and exercises for athletes ready to take their performance to the next level.

Super Sports

Sports like soccer, basketball, hockey, football and baseball are taught in detail. The main focus is teamwork and sportsmanship. Ashley Berggren Basketball Camp

Led by Schaumburg High School girls head basketball coach, this camp is designed to develop the complete player through individual skill work on both offense and defense. This camp provides technical and tactical instruction in all areas, including goal keeping. Conant Cougar Girls Basketball Camp

Join Conant High School Head Girls Basketball Coach Dan Travers for this camp designed to teach players the fundamentals. Individual instruction is complemented with 3-on-3 and 5-on-5 competitions. Fundamentals camp includes the skills necessary to make each girl an above average offensive player. The ability to create a shot off the dribble, post moves, 1-on-1 moves going to the basket, passing versus defensive pressure and how to get open using screens and reading defense will be covered. Camps focus on football fundamentals through a non-contact format. Emphasizing individual skills and the mechanics of team play, participants are exposed to the system utilized by the Schaumburg High School football program. Beginners receive basic skateboarding instruction with an emphasis on balance, pushing the board, kick-turns, maneuvering and manual. Intermediates learn maneuvers including ollies, shuv-its, kick-flips, board-slides and grinds on flatland, transitions (ramps), and rails. Using special equipment, Skyhawk staff teaches the standard track & field events: long distance, sprints, soft hurdles, relays, shot put, discus and standing long -jump. The exercises and drills prepare athletes for cross-country, track & field and distance running. Body positioning, stride, proper stretching and cool-down techniques are covered. Participants will put it all together for one fun-filled day at the end-of-the-week track meet!

This camp introduces the core skills of passing, catching and de-flagging (or defensive positioning). The week ends with the Skyhawks Sports Bowl, where participants can showcase their skills. Campers receive a T-shirt and merit award.

Professional Soccer Academy

Learn the ins and outs of soccer from Professional Soccer Academy instructors, former professional soccer players and college athletes. All facets of soccer (dribbling, passing, receiving, shooting and defense) are worked on throughout the week. Campers receive a T-shirt, water bottle and soccer bag. The last day of camp is spent at the Fun Zone at Soccer City Indoor Arenas. Each camper experiences an inflatable obstacle course, 20-foot slide and the Jumper. Activities include Soccer Olympics ending with the ever popular water fight (weather permitting). Bring soccer ball, shin guards and water jug.

True Lacrosse Camp

True Lacrosse offers this program at Olympic Park for beginners and intermediate players. Participants will learn proper catching and throwing techniques, proper defensive positioning, stick checking and body checking and offensive moves such as cutting, picking, and shooting. Equipment is provided, however participants should bring a proper lacrosse stick and water bottle. Instructed by True Lacrosse’s staff of current professional and/or ex Division I college players. White Sox Training Center Camps White Sox Training Centers are a grass roots approach to nurturing a lifelong love for baseball. Young players interested in improving their skills will learn basic and advanced skills. Camps are taught primarily by high school and collegiate coaches, ex-professional players and private instructors. Campers receive six White Sox game ticket vouchers, a White Sox Training Center hat and T-shirt, and a Fan Experience at U.S. Cellular Field including a parade on the field and a Q&A session with a White Sox personality and current player!

Chicago Bulls Half-Day Summer Camp

The Chicago Bulls Training Academy staff of expert coaches will be giving each player an opportunity to receive the kind of basketball instruction taught to the pros. A low student/instructor ratio guarantees personal attention. Campers receive a ball, bag and T-shirt. Participants who also sign up for Chicago White Sox Half-Day Summer Camp will save on the fee. Essential individual aspects of baseball including throwing, hitting, bunting, fielding, pitching and base-running are the focus of this camp. Teachings are reinforced using fun skill games. This camp is conducted similar to a major league spring training practice. Teen Voyager Camp

Get geared up and ready to travel this summer! Campers will go on field trips daily to various places throughout the suburbs including museums, parks, swimming pools and baseball games. Participants enjoy a wide range of activities from bowling and roller skating to kickball and candy making. Campers must bring a sack lunch and swimsuit each day. Calendars will be sent home prior to the start of camp. for 13 to 15-Year-olds (Must meet age requirement by Sept. 1, 2011)

The Schaumburg Park District is seeking enthusiastic 13 to 15-year-olds who want to become leaders and potential staff members. Applicants must be 13 by Sept. 1, 2011. This fun experience is a great way to introduce the concept of employment responsibilities to teens. Junior Leaders will interact with young children, peers and adults in a work setting. Junior Leader positions are available for Safety Town, tot and sport programs, swim lessons and more!

New applicants and their parents must attend an Orientation Meeting on Thursday, March 3 at 6:30PM at the CRC. This meeting will include an overview of the Junior Leader Program, the application and information regarding interviews. Interviews will be conducted on March 31, April 4 and 5. Teens will receive written notice of their application status the week of April 18. All teens accepted into the Junior Leader Program will receive information regarding the placement process. Positions are limited and will be first come, first serve. There is a mandatory Junior Leader Kick-Off on Saturday, June 4 from 10AM – noon at the Sport Center. Junior Leaders will attend mini-training sessions, finalize volunteer positions and meet program leaders. A pizza lunch will be provided.

Returning Junior Leaders - The application and placement process has changed! If you are interested in returning to the Junior Leader Program, there is no need to re-apply. If you do not receive a letter by Feb. 16, please contact Kathy Moulds (847/490-7036). Returning Leaders must attend one of the information nights on March 31, April 4 or 5. During the information nights, Junior Leaders will discuss experiences from last summer and the new placement process for this summer. Returning Junior Leaders must attend the Junior Leader Program Kick-Off on Saturday, June 4 from 10AM – noon at the Sport Center. For additional information, please contact Kathy Moulds at 847/490-7036. Junior Leader application paperwork will be available online at www. parkfun.com and at CRC, PSC and MRC after March 4. Please return the completed paperwork to the Pat Shephard Center by 5PM on Friday, March 18. 19
