Schaumburg Park District Values
From the executive director...
Schaumburg Park District
It’s been another fantastic year at Schaumburg Park District! We made several impactful improvements and additions in 2018: • We completed work on the second phase of the Community Recreation Center renovation project—our continued response to our most recent community survey where residents listed the CRC as the facility they wanted us to invest in the most. • The renovated Players Course at Schaumburg Golf Club opened to outstanding reviews. The updated Baer course will open in July 2019. • Based on continuing need, KASPER our before and after school program, opened a new after school programming site at The Sport Center. Also this past year, Schaumburg Park District joined the ranks of elite park and recreation agencies across the country by earning recognition through the Commission for Accreditation of Park and Recreation Agencies (CAPRA) and the National Recreation and Park Association. As part of the accreditation process, the District had to demonstrate compliance with 151 recognized standards and document all policies and procedures. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this effort! This year, we'll be checking in with you through a formal community-wide attitude and interest survey. We want to know how you regard our parks, programs and facilities—what you enjoy and what you want enhanced. Your feedback not only helps us provide you with the best possible parks and recreation opportunities, it's what makes us an award-winning park district. Results are used to develop the District’s Comprehensive Master Plan, a threeyear-forward guide to our operations. I’d like to express my gratitude to all of our staff who work tirelessly to fulfill the District’s mission—your dedication and passion result in thousands of people experiencing the life-changing benefits of recreation. Thanks to our Board of Park Commissioners—your vision, experience and guidance is the foundation of the District. The time you dedicate to serving your community is appreciated. Also, a special thanks to our residents— your passion for a quality community continues to fuel my staff and I to raise our District to even higher heights. As always, please remember to Take Time for Fun at one of our facilities, programs, events and parks! -Tony LaFrenere, Executive Director
