education ENGINO TOY SYSTEM was developed by a group of engineers and teachers for the purpose of helping pupils build technical models easily and creatively, so that they can spend more time in experimenting and learning about technology. Research grands from local and E.U. funds helped materialize the 3 year research to an innovative product, launched internationally in 2007. Since then, the company has developed more snap-fit components such as gears, pulleys and motors, and also a series of activity books and CD’s that help children interact with technology and “learn by doing”. The major advantage of ENGINO system is that it enables children to build fast and easy, simple or complex models, using a very low number of different components and a much lower quantity of parts.

The activity books of the Mechanical science series have been created by a team of technology teachers so that they follow the most up-to-date Design and Technology curriculum and STEM methodologies. These books include theoretical information about the different machines, with many full color images, drawings and interesting facts. Various experiments and activities are presented and the child can actually write in the book, completing tables and noting results and conclusions. In addition there are building challenges and quizzes, together with their answers so that children can evaluate themselves after they have completed each book. The books are ideal for home schooling but also for primary and secondary schools.

bridges The ability of engino parts to connect up to 6 different directions simultaneously with easy snap fit assembly, make engino ideal for exploring the three dimensional space. Special elements such as pivoting joints allow any angle to be created and assemblies are not restricted to angles of 90 and 45 degrees. The patented extendable rods can extend to cover any distance and students can create and experiment with all types of triangular shapes. This educational set comes in a plastic box and is ideal for key stages 2&3. There are enough parts to build 2 models simultaneously so that 4-6 students can split into two smaller groups. Both groups can build one of the seven featured models and then compare their constructions and experiments. They can also combine all parts for larger building challenges, creating domes, famous buildings or bridges with large spans. The set includes 2 sets of instructions, one for each group, and models cover a house, two types of truss bridges, a suspension bridge, an arch bridge and a cable bridge.

other forms of energy This classroom set will help students learn about the concepts of energy with emphasis on Solar energy. More than 30 models can be built, each designed for investigating how energy is converted and stored. The set includes two 3V solar modules which can work individually or connect in parallel for increased output. A very unique feature of engino solar energy module is the hybrid ability, that is the motor can run either on batteries (3xAAA) or from the power of the Sun. The panels can connect directly on the motor with a small wire or can transfer power via the wired RC handset. The use of handset allows the model to be lighter and to move in any direction irrespective of the position of the Sun. The set also includes a set of gears and axles for more elaborate motion transfer and also elastic bands and balloons for making experiments on energy storage and conversion.
