2020. The year we had been eagerly awaiting. We had big plans to celebrate our 250th anniversary this year with our friends and colleagues in the music industry! Instead, this year has presented us with some new challenges that have affected us all in our personal, professional and social lives. Lockdowns and restrictions rapidly changed both public life and the economy. The music world has been especially badly hit, between cancelled performances, closed venues, and music retailers who have been forced to temporarily shut their stores. However, even in the depths of this crisis, rays of hope can be found. Many people have sought solace in music and have been inspired to connect with eachother in new ways, and using new technologies. dusted off, and music is filling more homes than ever. We have heard stories of neighbours making music together across balconies and many more have rediscovered their passion for music in their slowed-down lives. On the occasion of our 250th birthday, we have published, for the first time, an extensive biography of the companyâ&#x20AC;&#x2DC;s history in a new anniversary publication.
