Celebrating Leadership and Excellence
Philanthropic visionaries Rob McEwen, CM (MBA ’78, Hon LLD ’05) and Cheryl McEwen (Hon LLD ’19) fuelled a new level of transformation at Schulich with their donation of $8 million – one of the largest gifts ever received by the School. In honour of their incredible support for the next generation of responsible business leaders, the Building was named in honour of their remarkable support pledged in 2017. “ We are very grateful and so proud to have this opportunity to support the School’s new Graduate Study & Research Building. As long-time members of the Schulich alumni community, we are thrilled by the transformational developments that have taken place at Schulich and that have helped it earn recognition as one of the world’s leading business schools.”

DONOR AND VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT
“The opening of the McEwen Building was such a memorable moment for all of us in the MBA Class of 1968. We had just celebrated our 50th Anniversary and were so happy to be able to mark our relationship with the School in this special way. For many of us, we are connected with the School and each other at a level like never before. We would like to take credit but rather it is to Schulich’s credit that subsequent generations continue to engage and give back.”

The MBA Class of 1968 celebrated the 50th Anniversary of the School (pictured above) by reuniting as a class at the 50th Anniversary Gala, held at the Four Seasons on May 27, 2016. Inspired to stay connected, the MBA Class of 1968 came forward with a collective gift to Leading Change. In honour of their support for the future generation of leaders, the elevator in the new McEwen Building was named The MBA Class of 1968 Elevator.
