MESSAGE FROM THE DEAN

Curriculum at a Glance

The Building Blocks of Your Schulich MBA

Schulich’s innovative MBA programs are designed to support your personal interests and priorities as you chart your unique pathway to success. Whichever MBA program you choose, you will benefit from three core elements:

1Building a Solid Foundation

FIRST YEAR CURRICULUM

Hone your problem-solving skills as you develop your ability to analyze complex environments and think critically.

Expand your awareness of the triple bottom line and diverse perspectives with foundational courses in leadership and value creation.

Gain an understanding of all functional areas of business, including organizational behaviour, finance, accounting, and marketing from a managerial perspective.

Acquiring Real World Experience

THE STRATEGY FIELD STUDY

Connect and integrate

all you’ve learned as you strategically analyze an organization over an 8-month period, with a team of students from diverse backgrounds.

Make actionable strategic recommendations to senior management on the direction their business should take.

The Strategy Field Study (601) was one of the most challenging aspects of the program. It’s one thing to learn about something in a classroom, but the 601 pushed us to question and apply those same concepts in a real-world setting. Through the 601 I not only gained valuable experience, but also built strong relationships that I know will last throughout my career.”

The Schulich MBA The MBA of Choice

With multiple entry points and the ability to switch between full- or part-time study, the Schulich MBA fits your personal priorities and dynamic lifestyle.

FLEXIBLE STUDY

Pursue your MBA full-time or part-time at our Keele Street campus located at York University, or pursue the first half of your MBA part-time at the Miles S. Nadal Management Centre, our downtown satellite campus in the heart of Toronto’s bustling financial district. You can take classes during the daytime, evenings or on weekends, depending on your schedule. Schulich’s flexible structure enables you to select the best term to schedule a break if you wish to pursue an optional internship. You may also switch seamlessly between full-time and part-time study throughout your MBA.

THE ACCELERATED MBA AND ADVANCED STANDING

We understand the value of your previous degree. Each applicant is reviewed to determine eligibility for advanced standing, allowing you to avoid repeating specific first year functional core courses and potentially shorten the length of the program.

Students with undergraduate business degrees from select recognized universities may complete their MBA in as little as eight months of full-time study through our accelerated option.
