Protective Behaviours: a whole school programme for primary aged children Protective Behaviours is an evidence based programme that aims to improve the personal safety and well-being of children by teaching them the skills to keep themselves safe in a variety of situations. It can be used as an abuse and violence prevention strategy and to address a range of safety situations such as feeling worried or bullied, as well as promoting good citizenship. Its unique principles are complementary to and strengthen other school based programmes such as PHSE and SEAL and can assist schools in meeting their Ofsted targets around keeping children safe and happy and helping them to recognise and manage risk. This programme is delivered by Safety Net a local registered charity with over 17 years’ experience of working in partnership with schools in Brighton and Hove.
