SHE HAS A CHOICE INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY Project from UI
In order to commemorate International Women’s Day, SCORA x SCORP CIMSA UI held a project consisting a social media campaign, assessment, a seminar and talk show. The social media campaign includes educative poster and ‘This or That’ that aims to increase the awareness of Rape Culture and Sexual Reproductive Health Rights. We also asked people to fill out an assessment to share their experiences related to Rape Culture.
For main event, we held a seminar, #SheHasAChoice on 4th April 2018 at UI, with the theme “Rape Culture and Sexual Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR)”.Ryan, CIMSA UI former Local Coordinator, was the first speaker that brought the topic SRHR. He spelled out all the rights that women have over their bodies. Surprisingly, many people didn’t know about these rights they owned.
17
Society’s poor knowledge on SRHR allegedly has made this vulnerable situation for women to be treated unequally, and remained silent. He also brought up the topic about SRHR from the doctor everyday-clinical aspect. The second talk show was an interactive talk show and role play that was brought by Raden Hidayat, a member of SCORA CIMSA UIN Jakarta. Seeing the uprising problems of rape culture in Indonesia, he explained thoroughly about rape culture and giving out tips how to deal with those situations. In the of the talk show, all the participants were asked to do a role-play to help them to understand the real-life situation of rape culture.
The participants were divided into three groups, with those who act as the rapists, victims, and saviors/educators. The role-play went smoothly and made the participants understand more clearly how bad rape culture was and knew what to do in that kind of situation. We hoped that all the participants would keep their enthusiasm on the issues of SRHR and rape culture, and would share their knowledge of those issues to the public, so the public would be aware of their rights and the danger of rape culture.

Indonesia's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is targeting that, by the year of 2015, infant mortality and under-five mortality rates was decreased by two-thirds in the 1990-2015 period. Based on these results, Indonesia is committed to reduce infant mortality from 68 to 32 / 1.000 KH and under-five mortality rate from 97 to 23 / 1,000 KH by 2015. Facing the challenges and targets of the SDGs, it is necessary to have a child health program that can reduce morbidity and deaths in infants and toddlers. Growth and development of infants and toddlers is largely determined by the amount of breast milk obtained, including the energy and other nutrients
contained in the milk, and to reduce infant and young babies' morbidity and mortality. In addition, mother-baby interactions and nutrient contained in breast milk is needed for the development of the baby brain's nervous system to improve the baby's development. To help make that happen SCORA CIMSA YARSI on Saturday, March 31st, 2018, held an event called MELODY (Maternal Health for Mommy and Daddy) at GOR Senen, Cempaka Putih. Committees of the event invited married couples to provide them with education. At 08.00 some couples started to arrive at the venue and given directions to register first. Then, the event started at 09.00

with the welcome from MELODY’s Project Officer (PO), Lenny Gusniati and continued with a greeting from LORA CIMSA YARSI, Deybi Eri Cahyani. In this event an education about how to be a husband SIAGA for mother and baby later is given by Dr. Agung Witjaksono, Sp.OG and continued by Midwife Wilda Amalia who will provide education about breastfeeding for babies and pregnant mothers massage conducted by the husbands so that the mother will always remain relax until birth. Prior to education, pre-test was taken to the participant about general knowledge to become husbands SIAGA and breastfeeding for babies. During the event
where materials are given, the couples were very enthusiastic. The materials were all given by the doctor for about an hour, then continued by materials given by Bildan Wilda Amalia, and after materials given by midwifes were done, we did a direct practice of pregnant mother massaged by her husband. After the series of the events were finished, we closed it with plaque giving to both speakers by LORA CIMSA YARSI and MELODY’s PO.
