THE COMPANY A LITTLE ABOUT US OX DENMARQ is a result of Danish design tradition teaming up with skilled craftsmen from Spain and Denmark to create unique handmade products from a wide range of natural materials such as leather, marble and wood. Vegetable-tanned OX leather is the backbone of our collection. The leather is produced from Spanish cattle who have spent most of their lives in grassy fields, leaving the cattle with marks and insect bites. These marks reflect a natural product and contribute to a natural patina as the product ages with beauty. Our brand name OX is a tribute to this unique raw material and the animal providing it. DENMARQ refers not only to Denmark, our home country, but also to the name of our co-founder and designer Dennis Marquart. OUR HISTORY OX DENMARQ was founded in 2004. We are a Danish company producing exciting design furniture in contemporary materials. Our first designs were primarily made of high-quality vegetable-tanned leather combined with stainless steel or wood. Since then our portfolio has extended to include materials such as marble, slate, brass and copper. Our furniture is handmade in either Denmark or Spain.

MATERIALS ORIGIN OF MATERIALS OX LEATHER Natural, Hazelnut, Cognac, Mocca, Black, Only the finest vegetable-tanned leather becomes OX leather. The leather is tanned in classic OX colors. GIVING YOUR OX LEATHER A LONG LIFE In order to give your OX leather a longer lifespan, secure fewer blemishes, and to keep the leather soft and supple, we recommend leather grease. Leather grease contains beeswax and impregnating plant juices, which cause the leather to naturally repel water and other stains. Leather grease is suitable for treatment on all OX leather and contains no solvents and silicone. Often the leather will turn slightly darker when leather grease is applied. Bright leather not receiving treatment with leather grease is particularly susceptible to sweat stains, spills and dirt. It is very difficult or impossible to remove stains. Some people prefer the untreated patinated look, with the color of the leather fading or darkening naturally with age and sunlight, and the scratches, marks and stains appearing clearly. If this is your desired look, apply only minimal care and use only foam from soap flakes for treatment. Otherwise, apply leather grease at least twice a year. MARBLE Green Indio, White Carrara, Sand Travertino, Black Marquina and Slate. These are the five high-quality marble and slate stones we currently use in our designs. The stones are mined in India, Italy and Spain, and then transported to a village south of Madrid, where the process from stone to table takes place. The marble is carefully chosen with the structure that characterizes OX marble and slate. TAKE CARE OF MARBLE Marble is a limestone and it does not tolerate any kind of acid. To protect the marble surface against grease and dirt, it is important to saturate the surface before putting it to use. Polished surfaces are best treated with acid-free wax. For continued treatment, acid free wax or white Vaseline oil is recommended. WOOD The Oakwood we use is of the best quality, found and grown in the North East of America. STEEL The steel is from France and processed in our own workshop in Denmark.
