During the holiday period, aim to do some study of an evening at least every second evening. On the other evening, if you are on track with your revision plan, reward yourself with some time out from study. See a friend, read a book for pleasure, play a game or watch a movie.

Very little in life is ever achieved alone.

On any given day, aim to engage in a pattern of revision that mirrors a normal school day. Start by 9:00 am, give yourself decent meal breaks and exercise for at least 30 minutes each day.

In the months and years ahead, the College community will follow the journey of the Class of 2022 with interest. They have inspired and encouraged me in my few brief weeks at Scots All Saints, and I know many of them will continue to be role models for multiple younger students even after they graduate. Thank you for the leadership you have provided to the College this year. We will certainly be praying for each of you and look forward to welcoming you back in the years

While I have only known Year 12 ever so briefly, it is evident that they and we should be proud of the way this cohort has grown and developed. There will indeed be much to celebrate on Friday evening at the Valedictory Dinner.

Keep your revision time active. Simply re-reading notes or texts has minimal impact. Go for maximum impact. Distil notes, complete past papers and get someone, anyone, to test your knowledge and understanding.

As Year 12 approach their final few short races at the College, I would encourage all Year 12 to focus their time in the following ways:

this week is Head of College Mr John Weeks. Mr Weeks, together College Council and staff, has laid the foundations for Scots All Saints in a way which will benefit innumerable generations of students. Mr Weeks' wisdom, care and commitment have not only been a blessing at Scots All Saints, but throughout his career in education, he has impacted for good the lives of thousands of young people, and we wish him and Mrs Weeks a restful and well-earned retirement.

Walter Elliot once said, “Perseverance is not a long race. It is many short races one after the other.”

For Year 12, the number of short races ahead of them as students at Scots All Saints College is increasingly few in number.

Each Year 12 student has come so far, and yet there is still time to advance even further. Reflect on where you need to target extra effort and devise a revision plan for the weeks ahead. If you are unsure where to focus, look back over feedback already received or seek out direction from a teacher.

Farewell Mr and Mrs Weeks

Holidays – a well-earned rest!

Over the past week, our Year 6 maths groups have been challenging each other through the creation of Kahoots based on our Term 3 mathematics concepts. As well as learning cooperatively, the Kahoots have been a great way to synthesize the content of Mathematics, by constructing questions for others to answer.

There is always a lot of healthy competition among the Year 6 students, and we have enjoyed watching them challenge each other and demonstrate their learning.

I would like to thank our Year 6 families for their generosity in supporting the students in running the Year 6 Fun Day. The initiative, organisation and drive shown by the students in coordinating this event were terrific. The students' planning and preparation skills throughout the process and their success in achieving a shared goal were a great example to our younger students. There was a colouring competition for students who wanted some down time in the Innovation Centre (with the colouring designs by Year 6 students Bridget and Sofie). Two winners are included here

(though there were many more). Congratulations to Billie in Year 1 Wells and Ellie in Year 5 Murray. The enjoyment of the Junior School students was evident throughout the day and helped us to build a wonderful and inclusive school community.

In the Senior Cru Group, three Year 12 students have been essential in ensuring the running of our Friday group meeting. That day, great as it was, held special significance for All Saints’ Cadet Corps, as they formed part of the guard at the showground.
