DNA This new body of work is a personal exploration of the common genetic heritage of living things, and our origin in the stars.
I have taken inspiration from the beauty and complexity of gene sequencing charts, the cosmos, and the species of plants and animals that share our world. The pieces here trace the connections between organisms through our shared DNA; the focus is on the similarities between a seemingly diverse collection of cells, plants and animals, all constructed from the same chemical building blocks, all related.
These wheel and drill engraved glass pieces are highly detailed and have been gilded with 24ct gold, Caplain gold and Palladium leaf. This deliberately limited colour palette runs through the collection and draws it together.
