WELCOME FROM OUR CEO
December 2019 was our 180th birthday. We wanted to make 2020 a year like no other to mark it. In a way none of us could have imagined back in January, it has indeed been a year like no other.
We’ve endured for almost two centuries as the world has completely changed around us. I truly believe this wonderful Society is part of the fabric of Scotland. We play a vital role in every community across the country. Whether rescuing animals, working with owners to help them care for their pets or educating people of all ages, we offer a vital service to anyone or any animal who needs it. We have continued to do our duty by animals all year round, and for that I am so, so grateful to you, our members, volunteers and wonderful teams.

This year we’ve urged people not to forget the animals, and the response has been phenomenal. The vast majority of our supporters have stuck by us, enabling us to continue to be on the frontline of animal rescue. I appreciate those who had to cancel their support will have done so with a heavy heart, likely due to circumstances out with their control.
Kirsteen Campbell Chief Executive
Every single penny of our funding is donated. I am grateful to you for sticking by us this year. It is unclear what the weeks and months ahead hold – and what impact coronavirus will have on animal welfare. We, and the animals we care for, need you more than ever.
The pandemic meant we were unable to produce our usual magazine in Spring. However, we’re back with a completely revamped, bumper edition jam-packed with news, features and information on what we have been up to all year.
