The new National Framework is an all-inclusive pathway providing opportunities for everyone to participate in any aquatic discipline they choose to whatever level. The framework has been developed by several experienced swimming teachers and coaches and ensures a progressive pathway which focuses on skill development.

Central to delivering a quality Learn to Swim programme are experienced, knowledgeable and qualified teachers. Our new CPD programme will help to keep your teachers up to date providing technical swimming knowledge and practical teaching tips to keep their lessons fun, enjoyable and progressive. A minimum of 12 cpds will be delivered over a 3 year period.

Having a team of licenced teachers helps to enhance the quality of your Learn to Swim programme. Licenced teachers will have up to date knowledge and skills which will lead to higher levels of teaching practice and enhanced experiences for children and adults in your programme. In addition teachers receive the benefit of individual insurance cover.

A new range of resources to enable effective feedback on a child’s progression have been developed.

Scottish Swimming’s networking events and conference enable teachers to hear from guest speakers, learn from each other and share information.

Ensuring your swim school is complying with current child protection policies and guidelines is imperative to delivering a quality programme.
