Better. Fitter. Stronger. Swimmer.
Masters swimming brings people together from any background. It’s creating a routine that keeps people healthy, in a physical sense, but also in a mental health sense, because it’s motivating. Now I walk faster, I’m a bit thinner and you learn how to breathe better, and we meet a lot of nice people here. Betty 74 Join a club. You don’t have to think about a programme, they give you the tips here. It really improves your swimming quite a lot. In four months you can go from zero to 2k, I found it amazing that I could do that. Dimitri, 42 Swimming has not only kept me fit and active, but I have travelled and met so many new friends. A great night out at the pool. Masters clubs are more than just swimming! With clubs all over the country it is a great way to socialise with others. There is no need to plough up and down the lanes on your own. Join a club and swim with others, or even give open water or water polo a go. Enjoy the merit of being coached as part of a group. Whatever your ambition is, purely for fun or to be competitive, masters clubs are the place to go.
Stay young at heart.
Whatever your motivation. You don’t need to be an ex-competitive swimmer to become a masters swimmer. Whatever your motivation, masters clubs and sessions are all about improving your stroke and breathing technique, while also improving your fitness and providing a serious workout. You can start at any given age; Swimming is a sport for life.
Masters swimming allows you to compete against your peers in every age group over the age of 25. Each event has different segments for different ages. No one is excluded. And even if you are under 25, some clubs now have junior masters sections for everyone above the age of 18.
Masters is fitness, friendship and fun.
