Since flagship towns like Midland and Odessa were founded, the wide - open spaces of West Texas have symbolized opportunity – and not just for the oil rigs and cattle ranches synonymous with our special slice of Texas. Today, West Texas boasts a vibrant landscape of culture, community, and connection courtesy of homegrown entrepreneurs, makers, movers, and shakers. Deeply committed to our community, these individuals are shaping the future of West Texas. And, from Midland to Marfa, that future looks bright.
It is my privilege to introduce you to many of these inspiring individuals. In the following pages, you will meet passionate experts and entrepreneurs across nearly every imaginable industry. Each has a compelling story and equally compelling ‘why.’ All share that quintessentially West Texas spirit of grit and tenacity.
In scouting and editing Volume 3, I have had the unique opportunity to deepen my connection with these West Texans and their businesses. Whether you’re a longtime local or just passing through, my hope is that Volume 3 will inspire you to do the same. In doing so you too will have a hand in the big, bright future of our beloved community.
Sincerely,
CLAIRE STALLINGS RAMIREZ Editor Owner

e Sewell story begins in 1911, with E.F. Sewell at the helm of a North Texas hardware store, a haven o ering an extensive array of provisions for its patrons. From a sack of our to a Ford Model T, customers found everything they needed. E.F. assembled Ford Model Ts from wooden crates, bartered for horses, and even imparted driving lessons, laying the foundation for the legendary customer service that de nes Sewell today.
In the throes of the Great Depression, the Sewell Family faced hardship alongside their fellow Texans, which led them to relocate to West Texas. Undaunted, they got a bank loan and acquired a bankrupt Ford store in Odessa, Texas in 1935. In a remarkable display of resilience, the Sewell Family successfully sold their entire inventory over the opening weekend, repaying the bank on Monday. Over the ensuing decades, the Sewell Family of Companies weathered the ups and downs of the West Texas economy. In September 2014, E.F. Out tters was born within a showroom cubicle at Sewell Ford on 8th Street in Odessa, Texas.
E.F. Sewell’s legacy of resilience, innovation, and customer care carries on at E.F. Out tters.
Guided by E.F.’s commitment to quality and service, we endeavor to o er our customers trusted goods and unparalleled experiences. Much like E.F. Sewell taught his customers to drive the Model T, our goal is to guide and support our customers on their diverse adventures.
The Sewell Family is proud to present E.F. Outfitters, a heartfelt homage to the enduring legacy of E.F. Sewell a man characterized by resilience and unwavering dedication.

With nearly fi fty years of experience in wealth management, Craig Campbell is not only a life - long Midland native, but a life - long investor. Beginning at age fourteen, Craig’s father had him overseeing his own investments, building the foundation that would lead to his lifelong passion and work. As he grew in his experience, he began to notice that locals were working with wealth managers in other cities and states instead of having a local relationship. Craig set out to change that and for four- plus decades, he’s been a reliable source for West Texans.
Craig continues to believe that high-quality service is possible with a team approach, and he has dedicated the last fi fteen years to building a team of partners that shares the same values and believes in his vision . The four partners that support Craig on his team have worked alongside him for years to ensure that there is a generational continuation of the fi rm. As proof of the impact Craig has had, his team feels confi dent that the fi rm and its mission will continue on for years to come.
This year, the fi rm rebranded to Campbell Private Wealth Management. While the name has evolved, the focus on servicing clients with unique complexities has not. Over the last few years, the fi rm recognized a growing amount of risk that was impacting the fi nancial markets and their clients. As a response, Craig and his diverse team made advancements to their technology, increased their approach to high - risk scenarios, and developed an improved strategy that includes a full team working for each individual client. This means that regardless of which partner is available, the fi rm is fully up to speed on each client’s needs, a rarity in the wealth management industry. Today’s version of Campbell Private Wealth remains committed to cultivating confi dence by designing holistic wealth strategies that stand the test of time.

STEPHANIE CARMONA
Vice President of
Give us a quick rundown of your professional career.
I was a hairstylist for fourteen years. For ten of those I worked side by side with Joe James, who was a mentor and is still a best friend to this day. In 2022, I traded in my shears to take over as a partner at Carmona Resources.
What are three words you would use to describe you?
Fierce, caring, and kind.
What motivates you most?
My motivation comes from my husband, Mike, and our three kids. Everything I do is for them.
Sweet or savory, and what item is your favorite?
Savory! Popcorn is my favorite.
Style icon?
Morgan Stewart McGraw or Tania Sarin Araradian.
What legacy do you hope to leave?
I hope to leave a mark as someone who always added value to anything and everything I touched. As someone who led by example, whether that be professionally or within my family.
How do you take your coffee? In the form of a cappuccino.
What is your favorite thing about West Texas?
I love West Texas. This is home, my family is here, and our friends are here. It is a place we have been able to build our businesses. Most of all, I love the sense of small community it has been able to maintain even throughout its growth, and all of the local businesses that we are able to support and grow beautiful relationships with.
What is your favorite quote?
“I’ll love you forever, I’ll like you for always, as long as I’m living, my babies you’ll be.” This is a quote my mom always told us growing up, and now as a mother I tell my babies.
Favorite local spot to grab a drink?
The more simple answer is a glass of prosecco at Cowboy Prime. But my favorite spot to grab a drink is a michelada at Pi Social, and only if it is made by Angela (IYKYK).
Favorite item to gift a hostess?
I’m a huge candle girl. So, therefore, I love gifting a massive candle. My favorites always come from Hyacinth.
Early riser or night owl?
Night owl. There is nothing like sitting on the couch with my husband watching a good Netflix series, after the kids have gone to bed and the house has been picked up from the chaos of the day.
Most used iPhone app?
Dropbox Running a business is non-stop.
Favorite book?
Business is Personal written by Bethenny Frankel.
What is your favorite song?
I have recently been listening to “I Won’t Give Up” by Jason Mraz on repeat lately. It was our first dance song at our wedding. I guess because our fifteen-year “dating” anniversary is coming up, and I’ve been thinking a lot about our journey together thus far.
What is your biggest regret?
I can honestly say I do not have a single regret. Everything I have experienced and been through has led me here.
What is your must have item when traveling?
Packing cubes. They really do make all the difference.
Mountains or beach?
Always a beach. There is nothing like sun, sand, and a good tan.
Ideal date night?
The location doesn’t matter as long as Mike and I can get away and get some quality time in.
Use one sentence to tell us how shopping local is impactful.
By shopping locally you are not only supporting someone’s dream, but you’re also helping them provide for families within our community.
