Let’s All Support Seaford’s Small Business As we emerge out of Lockdown, there’s one thing we can all do to help Seaford recover from the pandemic – and that’s to shop locally. Independent traders and the shopping areas across

the town are the lifeblood of our community, generating interest and footfall, and providing local jobs. But after an incredibly challenging year, small businesses in our town need help to stay afloat.

Social responsibility

The momentum is there as the lockdown measures are being eased; we need to keep it going as the economy opens up again. If you’re still not convinced, here are three reasons to support Seaford’s small businesses.

Small businesses in our town are rooted in the community we all serve, and they often support local charities, schools, and sporting clubs. Shopping locally is an easy way you can say thanks to them for lending a hand to the small organisations that make a big difference across Seaford and help maintain our community spirit.

It’s character building

Good for the environment

Small businesses, and the people who run them, bring character and personality to Seaford. They make our area feel special and unique, rather than sterile and anonymous.

If we give all our business to online multinationals, what will become of our high streets? Answer: they’ll become ghost towns.

The Seaford Youth Forum has created a wonderful project called ‘Use it or lose it’, which encourages young people to use local shops and helps them understand the value and importance of community. It’s well worth checking out, and the project runs until June 2022.

Shopping locally helps to reduce the carbon footprint. We’re very environmentally conscious, as are many other businesses in the town. Since we opened our doors in 1987, we’ve always done all we can to support the local economy, and that’s something we’ll continue to do.
