1. Consider the costs of moving

Selling your home comes with certain expenses you should always budget for. There are solicitors, surveyors, and removal companies, plus several other costs to consider.

2. Sell before you seek

If you find somewhere you want to buy before agreeing a sale on your own property, then you won’t be in a position to proceed with the purchase (unless you are a cash buyer, first time buyer or investor). In this scenario, some people often end up paying over the asking price for the property they want to buy and potentially accepting less for their own home because they are so keen to move.

3. Remove reasons

Often people will look for reasons not to buy a property. Most of us fear making mistakes, especially when it’s something as life-changing as a new home. You can help reduce the reasons not to buy by applying fresh coats of paint where needed. And by getting all the niggly little jobs sorted like missing door handles on cupboards, broken hinges or removing any old, unused garden furniture.
