February

in the Lowcountry

February may be the shortest month of the year but it is packed with special days. For example, Groundhog Day is approaching and, after enduring our recent cold snap, we can only hope that we will get a prediction of an early spring. Bring on the warm weather and sunshine! Presidents Day also falls in February. This is a day to honor two of our most revered presidents who made such an impact on our American history. Now, here are a few days you might not know about. Did you know that February 8th is Kite Flying Day? And don't forget the 11th is Make a Friend Day, the 20th is Love Your Pet Day and the 27th is Polar Bear Day! Who knew? Our favorite February holiday has to Valentine's Day. A day to celebrate many types of love for young and old alike. It is a wonderful time to let all of those significant people in our lives know how much they mean to us. Visit The Chocolate Tree for a gift for that special someone with a sweet tooth or Bitty's Florist for a beautiful bouquet of flowers. Even a card or a phone call can brighten someone's day. So, enjoy all of the special days of February and be glad that you get to spend them in the amazing Lowcountry.
