is upon us

Now that we have begun to thaw from the winter, it is time to feel the warm sunshine on our faces again. March is always a beautiful time of year. The plants are starting to bloom, so the vibrant colors from the azaleas, and honeysuckles emerging are breathtaking. This month will signify the rebirth of plants and the rejuvenation of fauna. The soothing sounds of birds chirping again, traveling back from their southern migration and the Cobia biting in the Broad River and the Port Royal Sound is a sure sign that Spring is upon us. So as we experience warmer weather, give homage to the patron saint of Ireland on St. Patrick’s day and watch the final playoff rounds of this college basketball season; each of us can benefit from truly appreciating the springtime, whether it is taking a walk on the waterfront at sunset, riding your bike on the Spanish Moss trail, taking a walk up the lighthouse on Hunting Island State Park or simply a trip down to Paradise Pier. Whichever way you choose, take time to enjoy our city of Beaufort and all its beauty and history. Tiffany Santagati
