It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The standard chunk of Lorem Ipsum used since the 1500s is reproduced below for those interested. Sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 from "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" by Cicero are also reproduced in their exact original form, accompanied by English versions from the 1914 translation by H. Rackham.

Footwear giant expanding warehouse operations in Big Rapids ROCKFORD, MI - Wolverine World Wide Inc. is expanding warehouse operations at its longtime Big Rapids facility. The longtime footwear giant is constructing a 16,000-square-foot addition at its longtime Big Rapids facility. The new space will house a raw materials warehouse, freeing up room in the existing facility, at 1005 Baldwin St., for additional manufacturing. The expansion will add 10 new positions at the Big Rapids location. Three will be filled with warehouse employees currently working at Wolverine's Rockford headquarters, while seven will be new hires, the
company said. "The new hires will mostly be entry-level positions, which will allow us to promote current employees to the new positions this expansion will bring," said Dave Warren, Wolverine's vice president of owned manufacturing, in a statement. The addition is estimated to cost between $750,000 to $1 million, which is lower than the $2 million initially announced. The project is slated to be completed in early 2017. The 76,000 square-foot Big Rapids facility is where the company
makes Bates brand American-made footwear for the military as well as quality Made in the U.S.A. footwear for the Wolverine, Hytest and Merrell brands. In recent years, the plant's production has increased after Bates landed significant military contracts. Most of Wolverine's footwear and apparel are made overseas. The company's brands include Merrell, Sperry, Hush Puppies, Saucony, Wolverine, Keds, Stride Rite, Sebago, Chaco, Bates, Hytest, and Soft Style and it has the global footwear licensee of the Cat and Harley-Davidson brands.
