Side step assignment

ANIMATION Animation is the magical process that bestows life, vitality and motion to otherwise lifeless objects. For many peoples their first introduction to animation is through a flip book, where as a kid they’ve drawn stick figure characters in the corner of the pages of a book and then flicked through them to bring their creation to life. Today the process of creating animations, while still relying on core artistic ability, has become quite technical. Drawings are created on computers using graphics tablets and drawing software, virtual sets are built for the story to be acted out in, 3D models of characters are created and virtual lights and cameras are added.

Your animations can now be viewed on web sites, phones, tablets and gaming consoles as well as television and cinema screens. The viewer can interact with them, maybe touch a radio to turn in on, and even personalise them by adding their own images and sounds.

This magical world has become even more enchanted thanks to advances in technology that help breathe life into the animators artistic creations.
