Welcome to the Summer 2013 Newsletter for clients of Dillistone Systems. In this edition, our Product Development Director, Alex James, focuses on a more efficient import process for FileFinder 10 and hints at what’s coming in upcoming releases. If you are interested in having a look at what is in our development pipeline, you might wish to join us at the FileFinder User Meeting taking place on 4 November, in London. The User Meeting is free to attend (for clients only!) and is being run alongside the European Executive Search Congress. We have built on the success of the World Executive Search Congress which, in its first 2 years, attracted hundreds of delegates from more than 30 countries to Las Vegas. We have made a major change in that - for the first time at our events - we are running three simultaneous content streams, with 20 sessions designed to attract leaders of search firms, in-house-search teams and corporate HR users of search services, along with researchers and delegates who are less experienced in the industry. In this unique structure, attendees are able to pick and choose the sessions that are most relevant to them, ensuring that not a moment is wasted. Once again, we have reserved a number of tickets for our clients, and these are available at a very significant discount – clients attending the two-day event would pay just £449 / €530 / US$699 (as opposed to the full price of £899 / €1,069 / US$1,399). You will find more details inside. If you can’t join us in London, then the best way to “stay in touch” with us and to network with other users is via our FileFinder User Group on LinkedIn. Simply click on the link in the banner below to join the group. Behind the scenes, you may have noticed a couple of announcements recently from Dillistone Group Plc, the publically traded parent company of Dillistone Systems. We revealed at the start of the year, that a new client had signed up for FileFinder every other working day in 2012, and our order book in 2013 is ahead of last year. We’d like to thank our clients for all the support they provide to us – include all of the recommendations and testimonials from which so much of our business stems. You may also have noticed more recently that Dillistone Group Plc announced the acquisition of FCP Internet, a recruitment software firm with a SaaS based solution, Evolve. As FCP Internet is being integrated into Voyager Software (Dillistone Systems’ sister company that focusses on lower level recruitment) this will have no direct impact on FileFinder or the team at Dillistone Systems. What it will do, however, is increase our client base and recurring revenues, which will allow us to continue to invest further in product development and customer services across each of our group companies. As always, we value your feedback and suggestions - please do not hesitate to email your ideas for future newsletter topics to marketing@dillistone.com. Best regards, Jason Starr

What’s New in FileFinder 10 Product Development Director Alex James explains some of the improvements in the latest release of FileFinder 10 and looks ahead to see what’s being developed for the next release. What’s new in FileFinder 10.6?

FileFinder 10.6 has now been released. We are pleased to announce that this includes support for the most recent version of Microsoft Office, Office 2013. Please note FileFinder 9 also has a new release which is Office 2013 compatible.

If you are starting from Outlook rather than FileFinder, there is a new option from within Outlook so that the import process (parsing the CV/Resume) can be started immediately without the need to toggle back to FileFinder.

In 10.6, one of the key areas that we have concentrated on is the import process. There is always a very tricky balance between making the import process as efficient as possible whilst maintaining data quality. We have a made a number of improvements which we hope will give users the best of both worlds. The pre-validate option in import gives us a good steer on which incoming records are new to FileFinder and which already exist. Knowing this, we concentrated on how a user could then take the appropriate action as quickly as possible. In practice this means that from the front page of each import area (resume/cv import etc), a user now has the option to quickly import records as new or merge duplicate records together without having to leave this front page. Where no matching record(s) have been identified, a new record can quickly be created in FileFinder. The process is the same for one record as for ten. Additional options have been provided so that - if appropriate work history, education and even skills can be imported.

If the ‘pre-validation’ process identifies duplicate records, there is now the option to immediately merge the two records together, again straight from the opening screen.

What’s coming in FileFinder 10.7?

Meantime work has started on our 10.7 release. One of the things we will add to 10.7 (as requested in our User Group!) is the ability to launch tasks direct from an Activity Log. We are also revisiting our dashboards (the FF10 application home page) and looking to incorporate some additional Financial/Performance KPIs. We are still very much in the middle of this process but we expect some exciting developments in this area and look forward to sharing these with you in the future.

We continue work on FileFinder 11, and expect to offer an early preview at our upcoming User Meeting in November.

As ever, please feel free to let us know your feedback or comments via the FileFinder User Group on LinkedIn: www.linkedin.com/groups?gid=3680734.
