About The Author
GIOVANNI CIVARDI was born in Milan in 1947. While training to become a sculptor, portrait artist and illustrator at the Free Life-Study School of the Accademia di Brera, he also studied medicine and surgery. During frequent trips to France and Denmark, Civardi put on one-man exhibitions of this work and pursued his interest in studying the relationship between medical anatomy and the human form as depicted by the artist. His experience gained from teaching anatomy, life drawing and portraiture in schools and institutions over many years has led to the publication of numerous books in which Civardi's experiences are brought into focus.

JACQUIE GERING
Description
I N FO R M A TI O N
Quilters love the look of textural, detailed stitching that adds to the beauty of the quilt top design. This stitching is actually the “quilting” in quilting, and many quilters feel that paying a professional for machine quilting is their only option. The walking foot is an accessory for sewing machines that’s often used for machine quilting, but many quilters only use it to stitch around their designs. But the walking foot can do so much more, and author Jacquie Gering shows all of her tips, tricks and techniques to master all of the skills needed to quilt with a walking foot. This book cover the basics of using the walking foot, in addition to preparing the quilt, marking, managing large quilts, preventing puckers and keeping lines straight. Chapters include a variety of types of walking-foot quilting, including channel quilting, matchstick quilting, and decorative stitch quilting. Quilters will also learn how to quilt spirals, simple curves, and marked curves like braids.
Key Selling Points - Author Jacquie Gering is the leading expert on walking foot quilting - This is the first book to feature how the walking foot accessory can help quilters create beautiful, textural quilts - Quilters can learn how to finish their projects on their own rather than pay to send them out to professional to complete
About The Author
Jacquie Gering is a prolific speaker and teacher, and has demonstrated and lectured at QuiltCon, Road to California and AQS. She teaches three classes on Craftsy and has been a contributing designer and author for Modern Patchwork, Quilter's World and Quilter's Quarterly.
